This year The Colgate Games are being held in Invercargill and the Colgate website has lots of information. Open to all Club registered Junior Athletes. Athletes do NOT need to be interclub registered to enjoy this event.

Lead contact about Colgates this year will be Marisha Dorrance marisha@canlaw.org.nz who will be working with Robyn Cody and Jenny Bruce.

We had another busy week at coaching. Lots of different things going on. Mark . took some beginners sessions in middle distance, which went well. We got some kids running a distance they have never tried before. Damian had great numbers at hurdles. Sussan did some starts training and as usual we had long jump, discus, shot put and high jump. Unfortunately especially with the girls groups we have too many athletes and not enough time to run high jump to its best. Therefore we will be re-assessing how to run high jump and also looking at possible extra clinics in the near future. Keep up the good work all athletes and our Fantastic coaches. Barbara

Tuesday Club Nights

We continue to have good numbers though they have settled a little. The weather has been a little bit kinder though we still have to watch out for the dreadful cold wind and bring warm clothes. All Parents/Caregivers please sign up for 4 help sessions if you have not done so.
Programme A this week, no distance race this week.

Saturday Interclub 2012 - 2013

What a shame we had another cancellation on Saturday this last week. However the week before in Timaru we had a good turn out and lovely weather. Remember Show weekend is a Quadrathon event and all children who want to compete had to be pre-entered and entries are now closed. For our Grade 14 athletes there is a combined event coming up in Timaru on 24 th/25th November which will probably require an overnight stay . More details will follow soon. There will likely be a $5 entry fee and you will compete with the seniors in the afternoon on the Saturday and then again on the Sunday.

Tuesday nights we will make a decision at 3pm and post on Facebook, email a notice and try and get it on the website, and now also again the Txt service. Coaching cancellations did not work well previously due to variable weather so at his time parents will just have to make the call as to whether they come down and see who is there. We will be clarifying this further once we have our next committee meeting.
