Your Right to Vote on Tuesday November 6, 2012

As a registered voter in Texas, you have the following rights:

You can vote on Election Day between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00p.m. If you are in line or you are within the polling place when the poll closed at 7:00 p.m., you must still be allowed to vote. You can vote by showing the poll worker your Voter Registration Certificate. You do not need photo identification to vote. You can also vote by showing: a drivers license regardless of its expiration date or the state it was issued in, any picture identification, a copy of a current utility bill or bank statement, or any government correspondence that shows your name and address. If your name does not appear on the list of registered voters or you do not have proper identification, you are entitled to cast a provisional ballot. You are entitled to a ballot with written instructions on how to cast a ballot. You are allowed to ask the polling place official for instructions on how to cast a ballot. You are allowed to bring a family member or friend to assist you if you do not understand the English language. You are entitled to a Spanish language ballot and election materials; in Houston you are also entitled to a ballot and election materials in Vietnamese. You are entitled to help with voting if you cannot write, see the ballot, or understand the language in which it is written. You are entitled to cast your vote in secret and free from intimidation. If you are within 100 ft of the polling place, you are entitled to vote without anyone trying to influence you. You are entitled to receive up to two more ballots if you make a mistake while marking the ballot. You can report a possible voting rights abuse to the Secretary of State (1.800.252.8683) or to your local election official. You can file an administrative complaint with the Secretary of State concerning violations of federal and state voting procedures.

Como un votante registrado en Texas, usted tiene el derecho a:

Usted puede votar en El Da de la eleccin entre las 7 am hasta las 7 pm. Si usted esta en fila para votar o alrededor de las casillas cuando sean las 7 pm, usted deber de tener el derecho de votar. Usted puede votar si ensea su certificado de registro electoral. No es necesario tener una identificacin con foto para votar. Usted tambien puede votar si ensea: una licencia de conducir sin tener en cuenta la fecha de expiracin o si es de otro estado, cualquier otro documento de identificacin con su foto, una copia de una factura de un servicio publico, y correspondencia del gobierno que tenga su nombre y direccin. Si su nombre no aparece en la lista de votantes registrados o si usted no tiene la identificacion adecuada, usted tiene el derecho de someter una boleta provisional. Usted tiene el derecho de una boleta con instrucciones escritas explicando como se somete un voto. Usted tiene el derecho de pedirle instrucciones al funcionario del centro de votacin sobre cmo someter su boleta. Usted tiene el derecho de traer un meimber de su familia o un amigo que lo asista si usted no entiende ingls. Usted tiene el derecho a una boleta y materiales electorales en Espaol; en Houston una boleta y materiales electorales en Vietnamita. Usted tiene el derecho a tener ayuda para someter su boleta si usted no puede escribir, ver la boleta, o si no entiende el idioma en la cual est escrito. Usted tiene el derecho de someter su voto en secreto y sin sentirse intimidado. Si usted esta dentro de 100 pies de la casilla, usted tiene el derecho de votar sin la influencia de otros. Usted tiene el derecho a recibir hasta dos boletas adicionales si usted hace un error al marcar su boleta. Usted puede relatar un abuso de derechos de votacin a la Secretara de Estado (1.800.252.8683) o a su funcionario de eleccin local. Usted puede someter una queja administrativa con la Secretara de Estado acerca de violaciones de procedimientos de votacin federal y estatal.
