According to Oxford Dictionary, truancy means the act or condition of being absent without permission especially from school.

Truancy also can define as disciplinary problem. Almost every day, Malaysian has been shocked with hot news about the disciplinary problems among school students in this country. As cited by the Deputy Education, Dr. Mohd Puad Zarkashi in News Straits Times dated 30th March 2012, although there was a decrease from 8,313 cases in 2010 to 8,266 last year, the number of pupils playing truant and resorting to indiscipline is still high. It can be worst if there is no action because it can lead to other delinquent behaviors such as vandalism, drug abuse, burglary, housebreaking and others. In order to solve the problem of truancy among Malaysian school students, there are few ways that can be use by the Ministry of Education which are; establish a unit of school police officer in each school, set up closed circuit television (CCTV) in each classes and strengthen the religious education practically. Firstly, the Ministry of Education should establish a unit of school police officer in each school in Malaysia. The Ministry of Education should cooperate with Malaysia police department in order to establish this unit to places a group police officer to reduce the number of truancy among school students. One of the reason students have discipline problem is because they do not afraid with their teachers. Reported by Alor Setar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner, Mohd Adzaman bin Mohd Jan in Berita Harian dated 25th October 2012, stated that there were two students in one of the school at Jalan Gunong, beaten their discipline teacher after be reproved because they did not attend the rally instead making noise in their class. It shows that, students do not afraid and do not know how to respect their teachers. By having school police officer in each school, it can help teachers especially the discipline teacher to monitor the students. Teachers can focus on their teaching process in the classes. Meanwhile, the school police officer can take care about the truancy among school students. In conclusion, truancy crisis must be treated at earlier stage in order to prevent it become more serious. It is a growing problem in this country and it can lead to other delinquent behaviors. Hence, Ministry of Education should take an action to reduce the

number of disciplinary problems although it is still under control. To avoid it become rampant, Ministry of Education should establish a unit of school police officer in each school, set up closed circuit television (CCTV) in each classes and strengthen the religious education practically. All this kind of things is not to punish them, but to help them to generate a better future. These children today are adults of tomorrow. They are our assets who we have to nurture with love, care and guidance.
