Womens Advocacy Groups Join Cecilia Tkaczyk To Stand Against Extremist, Anti-Women Agenda
(Albany, NY) State Senate candidate Cecilia Tkaczyk was joined today by prominent womens groups to stand against anti-women extremists, including George Amedore. George Amedore has consistently voted against bills crucial to womens equality and advancement in New York State. Cecilia has been a tireless advocate for womens rights and will fight to ensure women receive equal pay for equal work and that reproductive health rights remain intact. The idea that George Amedore, a candidate for State Senate in New York, would oppose a fundamental value like equal pay for equal work is deeply disturbing, Cecilia Tkaczyk said. I understand that for our economy to grow and prosper, we need to help small businesses and family farms thrive and create jobs and ensure all New Yorkers are given the salaries they deserve for the work they do. As State Senator, I will stand up to extremists who put politics and ideology ahead of common sense and representing the values of their constituents. During his three terms in the State Assembly, Mr. Amedore repeatedly voted against the Fair Pay Act which would ensure that all New Yorkers receive equal pay for equal work. Even more concerning than Mr. Amedores anti-pay equity views are his extremist beliefs about a womans right to choose. Earlier this month, during a radio interview on The Capitol Pressroom with Susan Arbetter, George Amedore stated that he opposed a womens right to choose. When pressed by the interviewer, Mr. Amedore said that he is pro-lifeno exceptions. This radical view, even more extreme than the national Republican Party platform, has no place in the State Senate and no place in New York State. Andrea Miller, President of NARAL Pro-Choice New York said, Cecilia Tkaczyk has vowed to stand alongside New York women in the fight for access to reproductive health care and full equality in the eyes of the law. Cecilia not only reflects the pro-choice values held by New York women, but will add a crucial pro-choice vote to the New York State Senate. Her opponent, George Amedore, on the other hand, opposes abortion without exceptions and has voted to take reproductive health care away from low-income women. We need senators who understand the realities of New Yorkers' lives, care about our health and our future, and will bring real solutions to Albany. Cecilia is just the person for the job. Lynne Mahoney, Board member of Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee, said, We need to send legislators to Albany who will truly represent us on the issues that matter to our communities, and that is why we are proud to support Cecilia Tkaczyk for State Senator. Cecilia will be a tireless advocate and full-time legislator who will work to ensure all New Yorkers

receive equal pay for equal work. The voters of the 46th Senate District don't want an extreme conservative representing them in the State Senate, they want a representative who shares their values and has the experience and dedication to achieve results and that is Cecilia Tkaczyk. Marcia Pappas, President of NOW-NYS, said, State Senate Candidate George Amedore stated that he is anti-choice -- no exceptions. In other words, even when the life of the mother is in danger and in instances of rape and incest, George Amedore will NOT support a woman's right to choose, and this is unacceptable. The voters of the 46th Senate District have an ally in Senate candidate Cecilia Tkaczyk, who stands up for women's rights--no exceptions. Whether it is guaranteeing equal pay for equal work, or allowing women to make their own personal health care choices, Cecilia will never waver and that is why we need to send her to the State Senate this November 6th. Patricia Fahy, Candidate for 109th Assembly District, said, I am honored to join forces with Cecilia Tkaczyk as we voice our support for quality education, the Womens Reproductive Health Act, an increase in the minimum wage and passage of the Fair Pay Act. These issues are crucially important to women, families and to expanding the middle class. Though the campaign season is winding down, our fight for fairness and equality is just beginning. We must work every day to continue New York States leadership these areas. With the support of the voters on November 6th, I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Assembly, and Cecilia Tkaczyk in the Senate, to make sure these issues are pushed to the forefront come January 1. Barbara Smith, Albany Councilwoman and Womens Rights Activist, said, It is crucial to elect leaders who believe that women are fully capable of making their own health care decisions. Cecilia Tkaczyk will make sure that New Yorkers are not driven back to the 1950s and can continue to exercise their reproductive rights. Cecilia Tkaczyk is a mother, wife, farmer and Vice President of the Duanesburg School Board. Shes running for the New York State Senate to ensure Upstate New York receives its fair share; focusing on job creation, rural and small city school districts and protecting Upstate New Yorks vitally important land and water resources.
