MUSICIAN: Eminem (Marshall Bruce Mathers III)

Eminem is-the world famous rapper who started off small and ended up huge. Eminem is extremely talented, not to mention popular, but a lot of people, including parents, teachers, and adults, don't approve of him. This is usually because of the language and themes used in his songs. Eminem's life was not easy from the start-his father walked out on him, his mother wasn't there for him to rely on, and he was constantly bullied. Despite all of these obstacles, and the constant rejections of his songs, he got himself together and pulled through. Eminem releases his emotions through his songs. Some examples of this would be his songs Mockingbird, Cleanin' Out My Closet, Hailie's Song, and The Way I Am. A lot of Eminem's songs are about his difficult past, the troubles in his family life, and other struggles. Eminem is a talented artist. His ability to create entertaining and heart touching rhymes in such short time, and to say them so fast, is not something everybody's born with. Eminem is also a talented actor-his movie, 8 Mile, won an Oscar. There are many positives to Eminem-he's funny, talented, and a good father to his daughter.

He is also known to write the majority of his lyrics down on paper, as documented in his book The Way I Am, as well as taking a few days or a week to craft lyrics, being a "workaholic and "stacking" vocals. His most famous and popular alter ego, "Slim Shady", originated from The Slim Shady EP. Eminem makes violent and dark songs with a comical twist. Though his Slim Shady persona has remained, Eminem did not include it in Recovery as much because he did not feel it fit the theme.
