Associated Student Government University of Arkansas ASG Resolution No. 11 Author: President Tori Pohlner Sponsors: Senator Tyler Dean, Senator Audra King, Senator Haley Wright A Resolution to Support RazorQuest Whereas, The experience of being a new student on campus can be overwhelming to incoming students; and The University of Arkansas is an institution rich in history and tradition; and There are many other aspects of the University that new students need to know, including but not limited to academic integrity, fiscal responsibility, health and wellbeing (including alcohol education), civic engagement, study skills and critical thinking, a peer mentoring experience, and exposure to their particular instructors out of classroom experience; and Many of our peer institutions have programs that teach new students about all their traditions as well as institution history, norms about campus life, and keys to success in their new city; and Research has been compiled to show that courses like RazorQuest have been proven to solve these dilemmas; and The tagline Destination Graduation 20-- will help new students feel like they are part of a class, and have a 4-year graduation period on their minds from their first semester onward; and The implementation of RazorQuest would help all new students navigate around obstacles that might get them in trouble, including, but not limited to, advising, academic integrity, and student conduct; and Vice Provost for Academic Affairs Ro DiBrezzo has put much thought and effort into developing a University of Arkansas, Razorback-specific program; and RazorQuest would not replace successful programs already in place in the Walton College and College of Engineering;
