PLASOMLITE INSTALLATION MANUAL

This manual is designed to outline the installation procedure for Plasmolite panels in a High rise existing structure type operation
Step 1 : Installation of anchors for wall panel , these can either be cast in place during construction or installed by drilling and epoxy fixing the dowels using structural epoxy , other methods such Hilti type fasteners may also be used subject to approval . Dowels maybe installed on both horizontals and verticals , or if required just on horizontals top and bottom

Step 2 : Once Dowell are installed ( ideally at 300mm on centre or as per engineers design the first temporary support angles can be installed , install these with concrete nails or if concrete is very hard drill pilot holes and concrete nail , a Hilti type fastener may also be used .

Strep 3 : Once the first angle is installed horizontally and vertically the panel can be positioned and screwed into place

Once the panels are installed and temporally screwed into position it will leave a site made make up piece or closure to complete the run of wall , these closures can be any size that is required but are to be smaller than half panel .

Shown is two panels in between vertical existing column showing closure piece that is needed to complete the run of wall .

Step 4 : Temporary support Angle installed on other side of panel to hold in position for concreting

Step 5: Closures are made on site to suit the gap required , or can be mass produced in the factory is the size is often repeated .

Here you can see the closure piece cut to size and the spacers glued on in advance at the correct spacing , once glue is dried the closure piece can be final fixed into position by glue and held in position by screws that can be later removed after concreting , picture shows installed back side of the closure which is then just waiting for front side to be installed .

Step 6 : Glue is then applied to the spacers and the joint and the closure final piece installed

See use of applicator bottle and glue applied to each spacer and the joints .

Step 7 : First screws installed through the sheet into the plastic spacer to hold the sheet tight with the applied glue , then the joints also screwed together to hold joints tight while glue dries .

Allow Glue to dry for min 4 hours prior to any concrete pouring works . IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT THE SAME SITE CLOSURE PROCEDURE USED FOR VERTICAL FINAL GAP CLOSURE IS USED TO CLOSE HORIZONTALY UPTO AND EXISTING BEAM .
