PASSAGE
Product A is manufactured in a series of three operations - Cutting, Finishing and Assembling respectively. Total manpower is 100, which is in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 5 in Cutting, Finishing and Assembling operations respectively. There is skilled and unskilled manpower for each of the operations. A skilled worker is twice as good as an unskilled worker. The ratio of skilled to unskilled workers is 3 : 1, 2 : 1 and 2 : 3 for Cutting. Finishing and Assembling operations respectively. The operations are done in shifts of 8 hours. Product A requires 3.5 man hours of Cutting, 1 man hour of Finishing and 1.4 man hours of Assembling of skilled manpower Number of Man hours = (workers required) (hours spent) [Defined for skilled labor]
11.The number of shifts required to complete the order of 200 units of product A if the next operation begins only after the entire
earlier operation is completed is :
(A). (C).
5 8
(B). (D).
7 None of these
Correct Answer
Explanation
12.If the manpower of one operation can be used in another operation, then the minimum number of shifts required to complete the
order of 200 units of product A is :

15.Chakradhar and Dhruva have two spools of 'manja' (specially prepared thread) to fly their kites. Each of the manjas has tiny
knots at regular intervals, which helps in keeping track of the length of the manja that is used. Each of the persons has the same length of manja. While Chakradhar's manja has knots at intervals of 10 feet, Dhruva's has knots at intervals of 12 feet and it has 10 knots less than that of Chakradhar. Each of the manjas has knots at only one of the extreme ends. Then the length of the manja with either of them (in feet) is :
