CEP Course on Supply Chain Management

Overview Supply Chain Management (SCM) has emerged as the most exciting and most rewarding career in management. In the present business environment, an understanding of supply chain is a must to succeed in other functional areas like operations management, sales and marketing management, customer relationship management (CRM), physical distribution and logistics management, procurement, service-operations management, information technology management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), financial management, global business management, strategic management, etc. SCM deals with management of flow of material, information and money from supplier-to-customer and customer-tosupplier. The course is designed to equip the participants with concepts, tools and techniques of Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and related concepts so that they can understand the strategy, operations, modeling, IT-enablement and other recent trends in SCM. One of the major aims of this program is to develop the decision-making capability in SCM, ERP and related areas. Recent advances in these areas would be covered in this program. Program Details Module-1: Basics of Management Concepts, importance of Supply Chain Management and ERP

Basic understanding of Management Concepts with focus on Marketing & Sales, Procurement, Distribution and Operations functions. Evolution of SCM and ERP Process view of SCM, Global logistics and SCM, Transportation Decisions, Facility location decision, Warehousing decision, Logistics decision, etc.

Module-2: Operational, Strategic and Implementation issues in Supply Chain Management and ERP

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): Selection and Implementation Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Material Management, Logistics Management, Toyota Production System, Lean Supply Chain Demand and Distribution Management, Supplier selection and strategic partnership in SCM, etc.

Module-3: Modeling and Design of Supply Chain Management

Management of Uncertainty in SCM, Optimization and simulation models in SCM, Use of software environment in SC modeling, etc

Module-4: Recent Trends in Supply Chain Management

Lean, Agile and Le-agile Supply Chain, Strategies of Cycle time reduction, Extended Enterprise Concepts, Integration of Supply Chain, Reengineering the Supply Chain, Coordination in Supply Chain, Bullwhip - effect and its management, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Outsourcing and Postponement decision, Flexibility of Supply Chain 3PL and Cross docking, Integration of Supply chain entities, Role of CRM and Knowledge management in SCM, IT-enabled Supply Chain Management, e-Procurement, ecommerce, Performance Measurement in supply chain management, Reverse logistics, etc.

Module-5: Applications of Supply Chain Management Concepts

Case Studies: Indian and Global Supply Chain Management Survey Findings for Indian Supply Chains Research Issues in Supply Chain Management Discussion Sessions

Overview In order to satisfy the thirst for knowledge and to become a learning organization, XLRI has evolved a 14 months consolidated program in 'Logistics & Supply Chain Management'. The program aims to provide an opportunity to study and earn a Post Graduate Certificate in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (PGCLSCM) while working without interrupting their career. The program is being offered by XLRI-Hughes collaboration to working and experienced professionals spread across various cities across India through Hughes classrooms and Fusion centers.
