HOLYFIED ARROGANCE We write in total agreement with the UST Varsitarian Editorials adoption of an allegedly- anonymous letter berating

professors/teachers, of some supposedly-catholic universities, who brazenly proclaimed a pro-RH Bill position contradicting such schools stand against the bill as spoken by the Catholic Bishops . Internet reactors call the Editorial arrogant and disrespectful to the berated schools with its supposed verbal intemperance perhaps in, among others, describing said rebel professors/teachers (and , sometimes, the schools themselves) lemons and cowards. The Editorial pointedly called attention to the tactless dichotomy in such provocatively-contradicting stand and the boldness of its proclamation albeit fortified by the names of their employer-universities and their perceived catholic spirituality/ spiritual catholicity. We see the Varsitarian Editorial as merely reflective of a Christians defensive holy anger not unlike that of The Lord on the desecration of His temple. Would it have been better for the Lord to write prior polite letters warning individual money-changers of possible protocolar infractions ? Many say that truth is the essence of humility. But we respectfully submit that truth has, likewise, the arrogance of titaniums unyielding unwillingness to be bent by the heavier leadenness of intellectual hypocrisy and pretensions. The anonymous Editorial merely tried to defend the Catholic truths of FAITH ( in Divine Providence by whose unending grace we survive) HOPE (in mother natures unselfish replenishment of consumed birds, fishes and other animal nutrients) and CHARITY ( for the uplifting, not reduction, of the abusedly-treated poor)

To even merely suggest that FAITH HOPE_CHARITY may be subordinated to the demands of so-called academic freedom is to insist on the blasphemously-absurd installation of an appellate -god, perhaps the working thesis of those whose self-recognized intellectual uprightness inspires them to pray to their own pictures on the wall, the better for their petitions to be ever granted. Our country is truly blessed with PEDRO and LORENZO whose adherence, if ever so, to academic freedom has long been rendered moot and academic: one was/is Thomasianly-dominican or Dominicanlythomasian; the other was/ is probably not , priest or brother. Let us relish the joys of life one of which is to know that it is our right and duty, by natural law and by the law of nature, not to be stupid . And if you resent that, you might as well call me arrogant, too. Respectfully submitted , all for Almighty God Always:

Roberto S De Alban, Sampaloc, for Tumauini, Isabela. 10 October 2012.
