Please ta e the time to READ the printed installation guide in your scanner box. It is very important that you follow the correct installation steps for Windows 95, Window NT or Windows 3.1x. Please read the following important notes about this CD: WINDOWS 95 & NT USERS Windows 95 & NT users have it easy. All you need to do is insert the software CD and the software installer should start up automatically. If you are reading this, you probably already did this. If you have Autoplay disabled, just clic "Start", select "Run..." and type D:\CDSETUP.EXE (where D: is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive) Now clic on each program and follow the instructions. WINDOWS 3.1x USERS Windows 3.1x users have to do this manually. Just find the Program Manager FILE menu, choose RUN, and type D:\CDSETUP.EXE (where D: is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive) Now clic on each program and follow the instructions. A QUICK TOUR OF THE SOFTWARE ON THIS CD \AdaraSca: This directory contains Adara's own AdaraScan scanner controller software which allows you to activate your scanner from any TWAIN compatible software. Your scanner can't wor without installing it. It's important ! \Iphoto: For Windows 95 and NT, you can find Ulead iPhotoExpress 32-bit image editing software. For Windows 3.x use Ulead iPhoto Plus 16-bit image editing software. Both of these programs are designed to provide easy, yet powerful tools for editing and archiving scanned images. Be sure to chec the online manual in the \MANUALS subdirectory for complete operating instructions. \Oplimit: This directory contains Caere OmniPage Limited Edition 4.0 Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software. Use this for scanning text documents that you want to edit or save with your word processor. Be sure to chec the online manual in the \DOCS subdirectory of OPLIMIT on your hard drive or CD ROM for complete operating instructions. \PMaster2: PaperMaster puts a file cabinet into your PC. With your computer, scanner, and fax modem it lets you quic ly and easily file, organize, and find documents. In addition, it lets you collect/bind, print, fax or e-mail your documents with the clic of a button.

\Acroread: This directory contains the Adobe Acrobat Reader. This software must be installed separately in order to read or print out online documentation (.pdf files). BEFORE YOU BEGIN Adara AdaraScan INFORMATION After installing Adara AdaraScan software, please double clic the Read-Me icons located in the Adara AdaraScan program group. These files contain any last-minute changes or troubleshooting tips. You may want to print these out to eep for later reference. ADOBE ACROBAT READER To read on-line documentation for AdaraScan, iPhoto Express, you must install Ad obe Acrobat Reader. Run acroread.exe in the ACROREAD directory to install this utility.
