Approches of the bridge is constructed on embankments using reinforced earth.Design include various challenges in civil engineering such as structural engg.,Transportation engg.,geotechnical engg.,Hydraulics and others. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) Analysis and Design of Foot Bridges ( Aug 2011- Nov 2011 ) Design of Foot Bridges using closed(hollow) sections and their comparison with foot bridges made of open steel sections (angle, channels etc.) in terms of economy, self weight and stuctural properties ( deflection, stresses, bending moment etc.) Indian Institue of Technology Roorkee (IITR) Mapping of part of Chandi Ghat Area at Ganges, Haridwar ( 5 December 2010 to 14 December 2010 ) Prepared a map of a portion of Chandi Ghat Area, at the Banks of the River Ganges, near Haridwar. The map was at a scale of 1:2000. We used various modern instruments, viz., total station, GPS, as well as Theodolite and plane table. We used our basic knowledge of principles of surveying and combined it

with the modern surveying techniques to prepare a beautiful topographical map of the area.
