Water Activities

Waverunners Swim Team- Join a local USA swim team at any level! Coach Alicia Henderson will be running two practices to accommodate multiple age-levels. Join today! Practices run on Monday, Tuesday & Saturday. Cost: $150 for 9 weeks. Can be broken into three payments. Contact: Alicia_Henderson11@yahoo.com or see the front desk Time: September 5th-November 5th Water Exercise Classes- Join us for a low-impact workout entirely completed in the water. Morning classes meet in the warm-water pool for a work-out suitable for all ages and abilities. Evening classes meet in the lap-pool and do include entering into the deep end with floatation devices. Morning Time: M-F 9am-10am Evening Time: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday 6pm-7pm Cost: $4 per class Arthritis Water Workout- This course is designed to be a suitable low-impact workout for anyone suffering from any immobility and inflexibility issues. Gain strength and reduce joint-pain with our Arthritis Water Workout offered through partnerships with the Arthritis Foundation. All classes are taught in the warm-water pool to provide maximum comfort. Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:45pm-5:45pm Cost: $4 per class Fall Swim Lessons- Join us for our second set of fall swim lessons. Classes will run every Tuesday and Thursday for 4 weeks. All levels are available. Please preregister at the College Park front desk. Email wccpr.aquatics@gmail.com with any questions. Time: Every Tuesday & Thursday October 2nd-25th Cost: $40 for all 8 swim lessons

Land Activities

Mixed Level Morning Yoga- Start your day off right with a yoga class that will awaken and revive you and get your juices flowing. This class includes extended warm up followed by a series of poses that will stretch and strengthen your body Time: Every Wednesday 8am-9am

Cost: Drop in $8, gym member drop in $6, 5 class pass $25 Gentle Yoga- If you have ever thought, I could never do yoga, this class is for you! This class is designed for people with limited mobility, flexibility, and strength. Many poses include the support of a chair and/or wall. Yoga truly is for EVERYONE. Time: Every Wednesday 9:30am-10:30am September 5th- October 10th Cost: $35 for session Senior Fitness: Mon, Wed, Thru 10:00am Cost: FREE Zumba with Sharon - YOU are invited to Zumba! A Latin-inspired fitness class, it is highenergy with motivating music and dance moves drawn from salsa, merengue, and other Latin steps and free styles. It integrates some of the basic principles of aerobic, resistance, and interval training to tone and sculpt, burn fat, maximize caloric output, and benefit your heart and mind. Licensed Zumba instructor Sharon West has simplified the steps and put them together so that exercising feels like a dance party! Sharon says, Zumba is easy for anyone, regardless of age or ability. I dont care if you are on your left foot or right foot; I just want you to have fun and get a great workout! This class is offered through partnership with Community Education. Time: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6pm-7pm Cost: $5 per class, every 5th class is free Line Dancing-Join us for a line dancing class every Tuesday beginning on September 11th. This is a 6-week class and is open to all ability levels. The course cost is $30 for a couple or $20 for a single. Class will take place in the College Park Library from 6pm-8pm. Co-Ed Volleyball League- Registration is currently on-going until October 3rd. Ages 16 and older are allowed to participate at the cost of $250 per team. There will be a coaches meeting October 8th. Ballroom Dance for Youth- For ages 14-18, high school students only. Dance etiquette, ballroom dance techniques, and choreography will be taught. Swing and cha-cha will get you started. Parents are encouraged to attend as chaperones. Co-sponsored with Community Education Cost: FREE Time: Tuesdays, September 11th-October 30th 6pm-8pm Ballroom Dance for Adults- Join us to learn to fox trot and swing! This fun class is a beginner level, but if you already know the basics, come and work on your styling and technique. Ballroom dance is great for fitness, weight loss, toning core and legs, and improving cardio. Cost: $80 per couple Time: Thursdays, September 13th-November 15th 6pm-8pm Walking Aerobics- Enjoy the accountability of working out with others? This is a great chance to start the holiday season off right! This class will be led by a video and is organized by a community member. All levels are welcome. It will include sections of walking aerobics and Pilates. Join in at College Park Conference Room B. This class is community led and is not part of Parks & Recreation programming.
