Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 About JEC Photographic Society (JPS) is the official photographic club of Jabalpur Engineering College. It was formed in the year 1959, when cameras were a rare possession and the art of photography was cumbersome and expensive. However it was shut down years ago. In November 2011 a group of first year students of this college, namely Apoorva Pachori, Mayank Kumar, Nishant Gaurav, Srijit Sen, Kriti Agrawal and Neha Shugani came with an initiative to restart this club and were successful in launching the club again in January 2012. Under the guidance of Dr. Shailendra Tiwary (Physics Dept, JEC), JPS has organized a few competitions in the meanwhile and looks to make it large in the near future. 2.2 Website : jec-jabalpur.org/jps This website was formed by JPS members itself showing the power of our photography through the eyes of HTML5 and Javascript. Its still under development but worth taking a look. 2.3 Facebook Official Page : facebook.com/JecPS This is our facebook page where we interact with the worldwide audience. It is a very popular page as JECians get to know about all the latest happenings around the college in pictorial form and also weekly photography facts. Go, hit LIKE.

2.4 Twitter : @jecps1 Follow us on twitter too! We have been a bit dormant there but you can help us improve. 2.5 Google+ : gplus.to/jecps Anyone who is using G+ can follow us here too.

Chapter 2 Objectives
JPS aims to bring together all JECians who love photography. You do not have to be a pro, you do not have to be prolific, heck..you do not even need to own a DSLR or even a digicam. Even if you go around clicking with your 5 MP mobile camera with full enthusiasm, JPS welcomes you. Do not hesitate to join us even if you are a complete novice. We organise competitions, plan to have workshops and exhibitions. We keep you updated with anything of such nature being organised in Jabalpur outside of JPS as well. It is all about promoting the interest of JECians who like photography.

The first rule : Do not just talk about JPS: be innovative, be creative. The second rule : be INNOVATIVE, be CREATIVE. Third rule : If anyone says STOP!, just stop and give a look. It might be important. Fourth rule : One person at a time please! The sixth and final rule : We can be serious without a suit! No SIR No MAM please, we have a name! But respect everyone around. Bad behaviour is the thing we hate, will lead to immediate expulsion from the club.

7.2 Participating in the competitions While participating in any of the competition we organize, disobeying a single rule given below will disqualify you from participation. We RESPECT Photoshop, but do not over edit your photographs so that they look unrealistic. It will leave an impression of yours in our eyes and it hurts! Submit a photo which has been clicked by YOU and only YOU. Don't risk yourself by submitting copyright photographs from the net. Dual submission of same member will disqualify all his entries. If sent by mistake, inform us regarding the same mentioning which one should we select. And ... what else! Click pictures which speaks for you. We will love if you give details about the photographs too. Coloured photos/Classic Black and White/Sepia every scheme is accepted for the competition unless stated otherwise.

JPS holds the right to include your photographs in the exhibitions. However we will personally notify you and seek your permission beforehand.
