The details of examination fee may be written in application form. Examination fee is not refundable in any circumstances. 5.6 Minorities will mean Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Zorastrians (Parsis) 5.7 Economically backward classes will mean the candidates whose family income is less than Rs 50,000 per annum. The following authorities are authorized to issue certificates for the purpose of identifying economically backward classes : (i) District Magistrate or any other Revenue officer upto the level of Tehsildar. (ii) Sitting Member of Parliament of Lok Sabha for persons of their own constituency. (iii) Sitting Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha for persons of the district in which these MPs normally reside. (iv) BPL card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme or Izzat MST issued by Railways. 5.8 The income certificate issued by the authorities mentioned at para 5.7 above would have to be on format at Annexure V which is enclosed herewith. This would have to be issued on the letter head of the issuing authority. 6. HOW TO APPLY: 6.1 Candidates should carefully read the instructions in this Employment Notice for filling up Application Form (AF). 6.2 Applications should be made on a good quality white paper of A4 size (210mm*297mm) using ONE SIDE only. 6.3 The candidate should use the Format at Annexure VI published in the Employment Notice. Application having any change in the format will be rejected. 6.4 The candidates have to fill up required information with Black Pen/ Black Ball Point Pen. 6.5 The application should be written in either English or Hindi and not in any other language. The application has to be duly dated and signed by the candidate. Application filled in any language other than English / Hindi and by any person other than the applicant will be rejected summarily even if, it is detected at a subsequent stage of the recruitment. 6.6 Candidates should mention "Applications for Gr. D posts, Northeast Frontier Railway" on the top of the envelope containing the application. Each cover should contain one application only. In case more than one application is sent in one cover or other way, only one application will be considered. 6.7 The candidate should send application duly filled with required documents by ordinary post so as to each RRC/NFR office within the closing date positively. Applications received after due date, for any reason what so ever will not be considered. 6.8 Candidates who have been debarred from appearing in any of Railway Recruitment Board/Cell Exams need not apply unless their debarment period expires by the closing date. APPLICATION FORM (AF): 6.9 Candidates should write his/her name (in column No.1) father's/husband's name (in column No.2) in capital letters as given in Class X certificate. 6.17 Candidates should write Correspondence Address in Column No.11. Correspondence Address should be written in Block letters, it should be legible, complete and with PIN number. The dimension of this column is 8cm x 4cm. The same should not bechanged. Otherwise, address on scanning would become illegible and it is likely the correspondence may get misplaced in transit. 6.18 Please indicate the highest completed educational qualification (one qualification only) and related details in column No.12. 6.19 In column No.13 the Physically handicapped candidates should indicate by ticking in the appropriate box for their type of disability. In column 13A, PH candidate will write the percentage of disability as per the disability certificate. Other candidates should leave column no. 13,13A and 14 blank. 6.20 In column No.14 the Visually handicapped candidates / those candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy who are allowed to avail the assistance of scribe for writing answers on their behalf should indicate by ticking in the appropriate box whether they require assistance of a scribe (Helper) in the written examination for writing their answers. The facility of scribe is admissible to only those VH candidates who really require the assistance. All one eyed candidates and VH candidates whose visual degree of disability is less than 40% shall not be considered as visually handicapped persons and the provision for engaging Scribe shall not be applicable to them. Engagement of scribes will be subject to the conditions mentioned at Para 9. 6.2 In column no. 15, candidates must indicate at least one personal mark of identification. 6.22Candidate should indicate the details of Examination fee (as mentioned in para-5) and fill up all details in column No.16. Those who are exempted from examination fees as mentioned at para 5.1 may only write "yes". Others may write "no" as they have to pay the fees. 6.22 Candidates are required to copy the following para (Declaration), in his / her own handwriting, in space provided in column No.17 in the application form. "I do hereby declare that the facts and evidences given by me in the application are true, complete and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. In the event of any wrong statement / discrepancy in the particulars being detected at any stage, my candidature/ service may be cancelled/ terminated without any notice." 6.23 Candidate should put his/her clear left thumb impression in the box provided in column No.18, put signature in Column No.19 and Date of submitting the application in column no. 20. 6.24 In column No.21 candidate should affix his/her passport size colour photograph with light colour background, not older than three month, without wearing cap or goggles / coloured glasses. (x) Copy of decree from the competent court of law for having divorced / judicially separated. (d) Any certificate, photograph etc. received separately, subsequently to the receipt of the application will not be entertained. 8. PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED PERSONS - A. Definition of Physically Handicapped Persons for the purpose of this recruitment. (i) Visually Handicapped (VH)- (a) a total absence of sight or (b) visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses or (c) limitation of field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or worse. Low vision - A person with impairment of the field of vision functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning of execution of a task with assistive device. (ii) Hearing Handicapped (HH) : Loss of 60 (sixty) decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. (iii) Orthopaedically Handicapped (OH) - (a) Locomotor disability means disability of the bones, joints muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of the cerebral palsy. (b) Cerebral palsy: A group of non-progressive conditions of a person characterized by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the prenatal perinatal or infant period of development. B. Degree of disability: Only such persons should be eligible for recruitment under vacancies reserved for PH candidates who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability. If the disability is less than 40%, the candidate will not get any relaxation of PH quota and will be treated as normal candidates provided he/she fulfills all other conditions of this employment notice. Candidate should submit disability certificate issued by the competent authority (i.e medical board duly constituted by Central Government or a State Government. D.SCRIBES - Visually impaired Candidates / those candidates whose writing speed is affected by Cerebral palsy can avail the assistance of Scribe for writing answers on their behalf. For this purpose they will have to suitably inform RRC/NFR in advance as per (d) below. In all such cases engagement of Scribes will be subject to the following conditions: (a) The candidates will have to arrange their own Scribes at their own cost during the examination. Separate Admit Cards will be issued to the Scribes accompanying the visually handicapped candidates. (b) The academic qualification of the SCRIBE should be one grade below the qualification prescribed for the post for which recruitment is being made. (c) The SCRIBE can be from any academic discipline if the recruitment is for general post. If the recruitment is for a specialist post, he/she should be from a discipline different from that of the candidate. He/she should not have secured more than 60% marks in the qualification mentioned at (b) above. (d) The candidates as well as the Scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking (enclosed Proforma as annexure-IV) confirming that the Scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria for the Scribe as mentioned above. In case it transpires later that he/she did not fulfill any of the laid down eligibility criteria or there has been suppression of material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled irrespective of the result of the examination. The Visually Handicapped candidate shall be responsible for any misconduct on the part of scribe brought by him/her. The undertaking, as given in the enclosed proforma at annexure-IV, should be submitted by the Visually Handicapped candidate along with his/her application form. (e) Candidates availing the assistance of a Scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20minutes for every hour of examination. (f) The scribe will read out the questions to the candidates and on the candidate stating clearly answer against each question, the scribe will write/indicate the same. An invigilator shall exclusively be posted with every VH candidate who have opted to avail the assistance of a scribe. The invigilator shall sit along side the scribe who will sit opposite the VH candidate so that conversation between the scribe and VH candidate could be overheard by the invigilator who shall ensure that only the answers spelt out by the candidate are written/indicated by the scribe on the answer book. (g) The scribe will not make any gesture, sound or any other forms of communication designed to indicate to the candidate the correctness or otherwise of an answer being recorded by him. Any such attempt would entail disqualification of candidate and stringent action will be taken against both the candidate and the scribe. (h) Conversation between the candidate and the scribe should not disturb in any way the peace in the examination hall or the other candidates seated in the examination hall/room. (i) The VH candidates may be allowed to use TAILOR FRAME AND BRAIL SLATE WITH PAPER for solving arithmetic problems and they will have to bring their own TAILOR FRAME AND BRAIL SLATE WITH PAPER in the examination hall. Partially blind candidates who are able to read normal question paper set for all the candidates and to write/indicate the answer with the help of Magnifying Glass may be allowed to use Magnifying Glass in the examination hall but they shall not be allowed the help of a scribe. Such candidates may bring their own Magnifying Glass in the examination hall. Note: All the one eyed candidates and VH candidates whose visual degree of disability is less than 40% shall not be considered as Visually Handicapped persons and the provision for engaging Scribe shall not be applicable to them. 9. INVALID APPLICATION: The applications having any of the following deficiencies, discrepancies or irregularities will be summarily rejected : (i) Applications not submitted in prescribed format as given in this employment notice. (ii) Incomplete or illegible applications or applications with overwriting, cutting or erasing marks. (iii) Unsigned or undated application/applications without clear and un-smudged thumb impressions and/or without personal marks of identification. (iv) Without photograph or affixing xerox copy of photograph. (v) Application signed in block capital letters will be rejected. (vi) Without Postal orders of requisite value and validity for UR & OBC candidates. (vii) Applications not filled in English or Hindi. (viii) Applications without Para-06 of Application Form, written in candidate's own handwriting. Declaration written in block capital letters will be rejected. (ix) Without proper certificates, in respect of SC/ST/ OBC and /or PH candidates, certificate should be obtained from the appropriate authority in the prescribed format. (x) Under aged/Over aged candidates. (xi) Not having the requisite Educational Qualification at the time of submitting application. (xii) Applications received after 17.30 hrs on closing date by any means/modes. (xiii) Postal orders issued before the date of issue of Employment Notice or with less than six months validity. (xiv) Any other deemed irregularity. 10. RECRUITMENT PROCEDURE. The selection procedure will consist of written examinations. Written examinations will be held on common dates for all the railways. On the basis of marks obtained in the written exams, candidates will be shortlisted for Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates will be further shortlisted in order of merit and called for verification of original certificates and identity. After the verification of all relevant originals of passed candidates, the candidates shall be subjected to Medical Examination. Written examination: (i) The question paper for the written examination shall be based on class 10th standard consisting of 150 multiple choice (four) objective type questions aimed to assess the General Knowledge/Awareness, Mathematics, General Science, Reasoning, etc. (ii) The duration of the written examination shall be 2 (two) hours. (iii) The question paper shall be printed in Hindi and English and also in regional languages. (iv) Negative Marking-There will be negative marking for wrong answers. One third mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer, i.e. one mark shall be deducted for every 3 wrong answers. Physical efficiency test: (PET) for all categories. : Passing the PET is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature. The candidates should be able to perform the following physical test;

(i) All shortlisted candidates shall be required to appear in Physical Efficiency Test (PET). A separate advice indicating date, time and venue will be sent to all the shortlisted candidates for PET. (ii) Persons with disabilities (PH candidates) are exempted from PET. After qualifying in the written examination, such candidates will be called for document verifications and have to pass the medical examination prescribed for persons with disabilities so that they can be empanelled. Document Verifications & medical examination: Candidates to a limited extent, in order of merit, out of those who obtained the prescribed minimum pass marks in the written test and qualified in the PET will be called for verification of original documents and identity and medical examination of relevant standard. There will be no interview. NOTE: (i) Railway Administration will not be liable/responsible for any loss/injury/damage, whether direct or consequential, suffered/incurred by any candidate during the selection, including PET. Candidates are advised in their own interest, therefore to ensure that they are physically and otherwise fit to undertake the selection and observe due care to avoid injury/loss/damage to either themselves or others during the process of selection. (ii) The venue of PET/written examination once decided by Railway administration shall be final, no request for change for whatever ground shall be entertained. (iii) For PET candidates may be required to stay one or two days more than the appointed day at their own cost. They have to make their own arrangements for lodging/boarding. (iv) Maintaining discipline by the candidates at the venue of PET is must. Any act of indiscipline will debar the candidate from consideration. The decision on this of the committee at the venue will be final and binding. 11. Medical examination: Clearing the medical examination is mandatory. Only those who have cleared the medical examination successfully will be included in the final merit list to the extent of vacancies available. 12. FREE JOURNEY RAILWAY PASS: A free second class Railway pass from nearest Railway Station to the place of examination and back will be issued to the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities only for appearing in the Physical Efficiency Test /written examination. All other candidates shall bear their own traveling and other expenses. Note: (i) The RRC/NFR at its discretion may hold additional Written examination and PET or re-examination or cancel part or whole of the written examination and/or PET. (ii) Request of postponement of the examination and or/change of center/venue willnot be entertained. (iii) Mere issue of call letter for appearing in PET/Written Exam by RRC/NFR does not confer any right for subsequent stages of recruitment process or placing name on the panel. 13. ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT. 13.1 Candidates are warned that they should not furnish any particulars that are false or suppress any material information while filling in the application form. Candidates are also warned that they should not attempt or alter or otherwise tamper with any entry in a document or its attested/certified copy submitted by them nor should they submit a tampered/fabricated document. If there is any inaccuracy or any discrepancy,

an explanation regarding such discrepancy should be submitted. 13.2 A candidate found by the Railway Recruitment Cell (or found earlier by any Railway Recruitment Board) to be guilty of: (i) Canvassing support for his candidature by any means or (ii) Impersonating or (iii) Procuring impersonation or (iv) Submitting fabricated/tempered document or (v) Making statements which are incorrect or false or (vi) Resorting to any other irregular or improper means for furtherance of his candidature for the selection or (vii) Using unfair means during the examination or processing, carrying or using mobile phone, calculator or any other such instruments or (viii) Writing irrelevant matter including obscene language or pornographic matter in the script(s) or (ix) Committing mischief in any other manner in the examination hall or (x) Harassing or doing bodily harm to the staff employed by RRC/NFR for the conduct of the test. May in addition to action under relevant provisions of the Rules/Law render himself liable to criminal prosecution and further (a) be disqualified by the RRC/NFR from selection for which he is a candidate or (b) be debarred, either permanently or for a period decided by the RRC/NFR from any examination or selection conducted by any of the Railway Recruitment Cell/ Railway Recruitment Boards or (c) be taken up for disciplinary actions under appropriate rules, if he is already in service. 14. Examination centre will be decided by the RRC/NFR and indicated in call letter issued to candidate for appearing in written examination. 15. All male candidates are liable for Active Territorial Army Service in Railway Unit or such other Units as may be laid down in this behalf from time to time. 16. Selected candidates may be required to undergo training wherever necessary with stipend for specific period and to deposit the security amount and execute an indemnity bond or agreement 17. The candidates shall be considered in due course for promotion to higher grades according to rules/orders in force from time to time. 18. THE INDIAN NAVY INVITES ENGINEERS TO JOIN THE INDIAN NAVY AS SHORT SERVICE COMMISSIONED OFFICERS IN EXECUTIVE BRANCH (GENERAL SERVICE) AND TECHNICAL BRANCHES JUN 2013 COURSE A GLORIOUS LIFE - A GLOBAL EXPERIENCE
1. Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commissior (SSC) in Executive Branch (General Services) and Technical Branches of the Indian Navy for Jun 2013 Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfill conditions on nationality as laid down by the Government of India. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS 2. Age. Age Block dates for the different entries are as follows:-

On Commission, officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year (subject to service exigencies). Leave during training period will be as per the Training Policy in force. 13. Sports & Adventure. The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hang gliding, wind surfing etc. 14. Physical Fitness. In Naval Academy curriculum, a lot of emphasis is laid on physical fitness. You are therefore, advised to remain fit by undertaking regular physical exercises, sports, running, swimming, etc. so that you meet the training goals successfully. PHYSICAL STANDARDS. 15. The candidates should not be colour/nignt blind & must be physically fit according to following physical standards: - (a) Heig and Weight. Minimum height for male -157 cms with correlated weight (b) Eye Sight.

3. Educational Qualifications. Completed BE/B. Tech Engineering with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from a recognised university for Technical /Submarine Branches and 65% for Executive Branch (GS) with one of the following streams:SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION:16. Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement and performance/willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. Disciplined life leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as added advantages in acquiring second career, post exit from the Navy. SELECTION PROCEDURE: 17. (a) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) based on their performance in Degree Course, if a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/ Bhopal Coimbatore during Nov.-Apr 2013. (b) SSB interview will be conducted in two Stages. Stage test consisting of intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II tests comprising of Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx duration 03-05 days). (c) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training as per all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies. (d) Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstance. TRAINING: 18. Training is scheduled to commence in Jun 2013 at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala. 19. Candidates finally selected for Tech (GS) Branch and Executive (GS) will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo 22 & 44 Weeks respectively Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala, followed by professional training in Naval Ships and Training Establishments. Full pay & allowances are admissible to officers whilst under training. They will be on probation for a period of two years, during which they are liable to be discharged if their performance is unsatisfactory. 20. Candidates finally selected for Submarine Specialisation, will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo 22 weeks Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training in other Naval Training Establishments/Ships. On completion of the training the candidates will have to pass Submarine Qualifying Board. The Candidate who fail to qualify in the Submarine Qualifying Board will not be retained in service. Full pay and allowances are admissible to officers, whilst under training. They will be on probation for a period of two years, during which they are liable to be discharged, if their performance is unsatisfactory. In addition, the candidates will be entitled for Submarine Pay and allowances upto Rs.17,500/- per month, only after qualifying the Submarine Qualifying Board. 21. Applications are invited from Indian male/female citizens for filling up the following vacancies of Group-C Non-Gazetted (Combatised), Head Constable (Ministerial) in Sashastra Seema Bal. They will be governed under SSB Act and Rules applicable to other members of the Force and other Rules applicable from time to time. 5. PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET):- Those who are found fit in the initial physical screening i.e. physical measurement, will be put through the following physical efficiency test:-

The recruitment will be conducted on All India basis. 2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ABOVE POSTS ARE AS UNDER:- (A) Age: 18 to 25 years (As on 15/11/2012). Note:- i) The crucial date to determine age will be 15.11.2012. The candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions and should be in possession of all certificates as on 15-11-2012 i.e. the last date of receipt of application. ii) Candidates not in possession of requisite educational, experience certificate or appearing in the examination/awaiting result need not to apply. Relaxation: (a) There will be relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC (i.e. 5 years for SC/ST & 3 years for OBC candidates). (b) The upper age limit up to 05 years is relaxable in case of candidates already in Govt. service. Govt. employees / servants claiming age relaxation should be in possession of certificate in prescribed format from their office in respect of the length of continuous service which should not be less than 03 years in the immediate period preceding the date of recruitment / closing date of receipt of application. They should continue to have the status of Govt. servant / employee till the time of appointment, in the event of their selection. The candidate will have to produce NOC from his parent department at the time of applying for the post / recruitment in SSB. However, departmental candidate may forward their application through proper channel from their head of offices. The concession will be admissible only where a Govt. employee has rendered not less than 3 (three) years regular and continuous service in Govt. Deptt as on closing date of application. (c) The Relaxation in upper age limit of 5 years shall also be admissible for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989. The candidate will have to produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector to claim such relaxation in age. (d) Five years of age relaxation will also be granted to the children and dependent family members of those killed in the 1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat. Children mean (a) Son (including adopted son): or (b) Daughter (including adopted daughter) Dependent family members mean: (a) Spouse; or (b) Children; or Brother or Sister in the case of unmarried Govt. servant who was wholly dependent on the Govt. servant at the time of his killing in the riot. The candidate will have to produce a certificate to the effect, issued by the concerned District Collector to claim relaxation in age. Children and dependent family members of those killed in the riots (1984 riots 2002 communal riots of Gujarat) will also produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector. (e) The above relaxation in age as mentioned in para 2 (b) to (d) is in addition to relaxation of 5 years in age for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates as per Govt. orders. Note: - Candidates claiming benefits under OBC category shall be in accordance with Castes notified in the Central List. The certificates should be in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority empowered for the purpose. No other certificate will be accepted as proof. DEFINITIONS / RELAXATION AND SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR EX-SERVICEMEN - Relaxation to the extent of military service plus 3 years as provided in DOP&T Notification No.39016/10179-Rectt dated 15.12.1979. ii) Every ExServiceman who has put in not less than six months continuous service in the Armed Forces of the Union, shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than three years he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit. However, break in service should not be more than two years. iii) Ex-Servicemen holding the higher rank may also compete in this recruitment for lower post provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria and also they furnish their willingness in writing that in the event of their selection they will not claim the post equivalent to the rank they were holding in the Defence Forces. iv) Character certificate: Minimum requirement will be Exemplary/Very Good/Good category certificate v) Medical Category: A (AYE)/SHAPE-ONE, at the time of discharge. They should possess to pass the same medical standards prescribed for direct recruits. vi) Ex-servicemen means a person who has served in any rank(whether as a combatant or as a non-combatant ) in the Regular Army, Navy and Air Force of the Indian Union but does not include a person who has served in the Defence Security Corps, the General Reserve Engineering Force, the Lok Sahayak Sena and the paramilitary forces; and vii) Who has retired from such service after earning his/her pension; this would also include persons who are released/retired at their own request but after having earned their pension or who has been released from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service or circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or other disability pension or who has been released, otherwise than on his own request, from such service as a result of reduction in establishment; or who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagement, otherwise than at his own request or by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, and has been given a gratuity, and includes personnel of the Territorial Army, of the following categories, namely:- (i) pension holders for continuous embodied services; (ii) pension with disability attributable to military service; and (iii) gallantry award winners 3. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: a) Pass in Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination or Intermediate Or equivalent examination from a Recognized board/University or Matriculation from a recognized board with three years Diploma in Secretarial Practice or Modern Office Practice or Commercial Practice from a recognized Board of Technical Education. b) Typing speed for General & OBC Category candidates: A minimum speed of 30 words per minute in English Tying or 25 words per minute in Hindi Typing on computer. Typing speed for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category candidates: A minimum speed of 25 words per minutes in English Typing or 20 words per minute in Hindi Typing. c) Should have basic knowledge in Computer application. Note:- All Educational / Technical certificates other than State Board/Central Board should be accompanied with Govt. of Indias notification declaring such qualification equivalent to Matric /10th class pass or as the case may be, for service under Central Govt 4. PHYSICAL STANDARD FOR MALE CANDIDATES

6. MEDICAL STANDARD: I) Eye Sight- The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses. II) The candidates must not have knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. III) The selection board has the absolute discretion to reject or accept any candidate after considering the report of the Medical Officer/ board. 7. METHOD OF RECRUITMENT:The selection process shall consist of following stages:- I) Documentation II) Physical Standard Test ( PST) III) Physical Efficiency Test ( PET) IV) Written Examination V) Typing Speed Test VI) Test of Basic Knowledge in Computer Application VII) Final Medical Examination\ VIII) Review Medical Examination. 7.1. DOCUMENTATION (CHECKING OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS / CERTIFICATES FOR ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA):- All the candidates appeared for the recruitment test will be asked to produce original documents / certificates pertaining to age, education, Caste, experience, Hill Area certificate, NOC / Discharge Certificate (in case of Ex-Servicemen), Proof to avail age relaxation etc. The actual age of the candidate will be determined from his Matriculation/Higher Secondary School Certificate. The candidates must ensure that their name, fathers name and date of birth mentioned in all documents must be same as in the matriculation/Higher Secondary certificate. Candidates must bring all their original certificates and two attested copies of each with them. 7.2. PHYSICAL STANDARD TEST(PST):- The candidates who are found eligible in documentation will be put through Physical measurement as prescribed in the eligibility conditions i.e. para-4 above. 7.3. PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET): The candidates qualifying Physical Standard Test (PST) will be required to pass Physical Efficiency Test (PET) as per para-5 above, which is qualifying in nature:- Note: PET will be qualifying in nature and a candidate must qualify in all the above events. Failure to qualify in ANY of the events of PET will render the candidate disqualified to appear in Written Examination. Ex-Servicemen are exempted from PST/PET. However, they will have to appear in Written Examination and Final Medical Examination. 7.4. WRITTEN EXAMINATION:Those candidates who qualify the PST and PET shall be eligible to appear in the Written Test to be conducted as under:Max. Marks Hindi/English 25 General Knowledge 25 Arithmetic 25 Clerical aptitude 25 Total 100 i) Candidates may note that no separate call letters will be issued for appearing in the written examination. ii) The written examination will be held on OMR based Answer Sheets. The duration of written examination will be 2 hours. Candidates will be required to record their answer in OMR sheet with blue/black ball point pen. iii) The OMR answer sheet of written test will be processed/ scanned in an electronic machine. Any wrong entry of roll number, name, question booklet number, question paper series will render the OMR sheet invalid and the same will not be evaluated. The concerned candidate will be responsible for such mistake on their part. Minimum qualifying marks will be 40% for General, OBC & Ex-Servicemen and 35% for SC/ST candidates. Note: Candidates appearing in written test will not be allowed to carry electronic equipments like mobile phone, calculator, pager, digital wrist watch having calculator etc. Any candidate found indulging in any unfair practice will be summarily removed from the written test and will be debarred from further recruitment process. 7.5 TYPING SPEED TEST ON COMPUTER: The candidates who qualify the written test will be required to appear in the Typing Test on computer, which is only qualifying nature. A minimum speed of 30 words per minute in English Typewriting or 25 words per minute in Hindi Typewriting is for General / Ex-Servicemen Category candidates and OBC category candidates. A minimum speed of 25 words per minute in English Typewriting or 20 words per minute in Hindi Typewriting is for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates. Note:- Failure to qualify the event of typing speed test will render the candidate disqualified for selection. 7.6. TEST OF BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN COMPUTER APPLICATION: Those qualifying the typing speed test will be put through test of Basic Knowledge in Computer Application which will be qualifying in nature. Note: Recruitment Board will arrange computers for typing speed test and basic knowledge in computer application test. The Computer Test is qualifying in nature. The final result will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written test out of 100 marks. 7.7. FINAL MEDICAL EXAMINATION:Candidates who qualify Written Examination, Typing Speed Test and Test of Basic Knowledge in Computer Application will be put through detailed medical Examination strictly on the basis of merit of written examination as per the vacancies and average failure rate. Note:- (i) The candidates will be called for medical examination over and above the number of vacancies advertised so that if some candidates high up in the merit list (category wise) do not make it through medical examination, candidates lower in merit list could be considered for appointment strictly based on merit. (ii) Being called for medical examination will in no way give any legal claim or right to any candidate being finally appointed. 7.8. APPEAL AGAINST FINDINGS OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION:- If a candidate is declared unfit in the detailed medical examination, the grounds for rejection will be communicated to him by the Chairman. The rejected candidate wi l l obtain Form 4, 5 & 6 from the Chairman concerned, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer, to prefer an appeal for ReviewMedical Examination to Inspector General (Pers.), SSB Force HQ, R. K. Puram, New Delhi-110066, within 30 days from the date of issue of communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer is communicated to the candidate. The appeal should necessarily contain the following; (a) Review Medical Examination fee of Rs. 25/-(Rupees twenty five) only non refundable, through a Bank Draft/ IPO in favour of PAO, SSB (MHA), New Delhi, (b) Appeal Form 4, 5 & 6 issued by the Initial Medical Board declaring the candidate as Unfit, (c) One self addressed envelope with ` 25/- postage stamp duly affixed on it. Certificate other than Medical Form 6 (provided by the Chairman of Recruitment Board to the Candidates) to submit appeal for Review Medical Examination will not be considered and rejected straightway. The fitness certificate on Form-6 is essential to consider their cases for review medical examination and not for any other purpose. The candidates whose appeal i s found in order will be issued call letters to appear for Review Medical Examination and their list will also be uploaded in the SSB Website www.ssbrectt.gov.in. They may keep in touch to know their date of appearing in review medical examination and venue by visiting our website. The decision of the Review Medical Board of SSB will be final and no 2nd appeal will be entertained as per Govt. instructions and also no reply of the correspondence/2nd appeal will be given/entertained. Note:- (a) It should, however, be clearly understood that the Selection board reserves absolute discretion to reject or accept any candidate after considering the report of the medical board. (b) No Physical efficiency test will be held for Ex-Servicemen. However, Ex- Servicemen will be required to qualify Written Examination and requisite Medical Examination for the post. Their PST viz. height, chest, weight etc. will be recorded during Medical Examination. 8. FINAL SELECTION:- The final selection list will be prepared in order of merit, category wise, after completion of Review Medical Examination. It is hereby emphasized that the candidates who merely secure the qualifying percentage marks and found medically fit, may not be considered for final selection since the cut off marks will be determined according to number of vacancies as well as after completion of whole recruitment process. Where equal marks have been obtained by candidates their merit will be fixed as per date of birth and the older candidate will be given preference. The result of provisionally selected candidates will be uploaded in SSB website i.e. www.ssbrectt.gov.in as per availability of vacancies. The selected candidates will be issued offer of appointment. No further extension will be given except in deserving cases. The provisional appointment of the candidates will be subject to verification of their Caste and other Certificates related to recruitment through proper channel and if the verification reveals that the certificates are false at any stage, the candidates service will be terminated forthwith without

Candidates must possess above qualifications as on 01.08.2011, and must submit marks sheets & Degree/Provisional Certificate issued from the University, if called for Personal Interview. II.
