s (Seniors) You must attend a College, University or Technical School as a Full-Time student. The choice of school and location is yours to decide. Applications are due by Thursday, November 1, 2012. As long as the postmark date is on or before the due date then the application will be accepted. An essay is required and should be included with your application on this date. Incomplete, un-typed or late applications will not be accepted. This application is PDF fillable. Please type on the application and then print it out. Mail Application to: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Suburban Houston-Fort Bend Alumnae Chapter Attention: Scholarship and Awards Committee P.O. Box 2066 Missouri City, TX 77459 An Official Transcript (reflecting fall grades) is due by Friday, March 1, 2013. The minimum GPA is 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Therefore, if your school uses a weighted or different scale, please have your school convert it to the 4.0 scale. Mail to address above. Three (3) letters of recommendation are required and due by Friday, March 1, 2013. One from a Counselor/Principal, one from a Teacher and one from another source (example: Athletic Coach, Pastor, Employer). All letters must be on official school/organization letterhead, with a contact number and signed. Please ensure that all letters of recommendation are submitted in a sealed envelope. Mail to address above. We (chapter) will conduct two (2) Workshops for the benefit of the applicants. The workshops are the enrichment component of the program. Students will gain invaluable information regarding college admission, financial aid, interviewing skills, life skills, and college survival skills. The workshops are MANDATORY for senior students and at least one parent or guardian. Workshop I will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at HCC-Stafford. Workshop II will be held on Saturday, February 02, 2013 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at HCC-Stafford. Both workshops must be attended in order to be granted an interview. Please note: Only school related function(s) will be excused. We (chapter) will then conduct personal interviews to qualified candidates on April 6, 2013 by invitation. Location: to be determined. The committee will announce the awards and will salute the students and a parent at our annual awards luncheon sometime in May 2013.
