Mr.

Parveen Bahl on his sincere efforts to create peace across border under Aman ki Asha, started by Times of India.
Under umbrella of Aman Ki Asha started by Times of India and Pakistans leading newspaper Jung, Mr. Praveen Bahl lead the India Cricket Team for Disabled to represent India at Islamabad held at Shalimar Ground between June 15 to 20, 2012. The series was won by the Indian Disabled Team for Cricket. Mr. Bahl is a 100% disabled and completely on wheel chair, and he visited a country where each visitor has threat to the lives. He planned this visit to spread the message of peace and love and in- turn he got lot of respect from the people of the nation. The Indian Team for disabled were given approximately 50 commandos for their safety. Do you really think that this journey of peace should continue? If yes, then Mr. Bahl should be rewarded for his efforts so that he is motivated to take forward these initiatives. We humbly request you to come forward and support his initiative. His speeches have always been revolutionary and all the newspapers in Pakistan have praised his speeches during the tour. However in our country no consideration is given to people like Mr. Bahl. Only people who are already known are considered. Many organisations are working on the funds they receive from different bodies, wherein NGO run by Mr. Bahl has never taken any grants/funds from Government or private body. He started a body Physically Challenge Cricket Association of India under the banner of Indian Handicapped Welfare Association to attain the international level. He works for 1618 hours a day despite of the fact that he is 100% disabled and completely on wheel chair. Highlights of the Tournament held at Pakistan 1. All the matches of the 3 Days series were shown on the National T.V. Channel of Pakistan. And the final match was telecasted live on PTV and the commentary was done by Syed Ehteshem-ul- Haq, he is also a commentator for the International Cricket as well. During the commentary Mr. Bahl was asked several questions and his opinion taken regarding the same. Mr. Bahl stated that, we have thrown the ball of peace in your court and we humbly request you to accept the same. The agenda behind the matches is to bring peace across borders. 2. On 15.06.2012, the President of Chamber of Commerce, Islamabad presented a bouquet to Shri. Bahl to facilitate him and hosted a lunch for the entire Indian Team for Disabled.

Cultural Program & Dinner: On 15.06.2012, in the evening a cultural program was organized and hosted by Batit-ul-Mall (Welfare Department of Pakistan) to honour Bahl and the entire Indian Cricket Team for Disabled. 4. Federal Minster of Pakistan hosted a Lunch for the team on 17.06.2012 in the premises of Baitt-ul-Mall. 5. Distribution of Wheel Chair to Indian Disabled: On 17.06.2012, Federal Minster promised Mr. Bahl for distribution of free 100 wheel chairs was announced for the Indian Disabled to Indian Handicapped Welfare association. The same would be brought and distributed on the arrival of the Pakistani Cricket Team for Disabled. 6. Monetary Award for the Indian Team: The Governor of Islamabad and Chief Secretary of President of Pakistan Faisal Shaikh Bhatt sanctioned and promised to Mr. Bahl for Rs. 1 Lac to the Indian Cricket Team for Disabled. 7. T-20 Trophy: The ex-minister of Centre and MLA from Peoples Party Dr. Usmann Shah, handed over the trophy of T20 to Mr. Bahl on 16.06.2012 on wining the T20 match held between India and Pakistan. (Dr. Shah lost his both legs during a blast in Pakistan). 8. International Journalist and Member of Editorial Group of National Newspaper The Jung Mr. Qureshi, specially visited Mr. Bahl to discuss on issues related to Aman Ki Asha. Mr. Bahl facilitated him by presented the Indian Teams Cap to him. 9. Visit to the Indian High Commissioner: During our visit the India High Commissioner wanted to meet the team and the First Secretary Mr. Janardan Singh called us and invited us for the same. However due to time constraints of the closing ceremony on 19.06.2012 it seemed difficult to meet him. But with the support of Dr. Rehman we went to the Indian Embassy. Mr. Bahl also facilitated and conveyed thanks to Mr. Janardan by presenting him the cap of Indian Cricket Team. 10.Match between Indian Team and Media Representatives: On the last day Pakistani Media representatives expressed their desire to have a 6 over matches with the Indian Cricket team for disabled. Accepting their wish a match was conducted between the representatives of Pakistani Media professionals and Indian Team, which was won by the Pakistani team. And a trophy was presented to the winning team. 11.Closing Ceremony: Closing ceremony was concluded on 19.06.2012. For the ceremony three key minsters were invited but due to orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan the Prime Minster of the country was removed from his post, which caused the disturbances and the visit of the ministers were

cancelled. However, the formers minsters and VIP like Zamrud Khan, and others attended the closing ceremony. 12.Farewell Party: A farewell party was organized by Shri. Hashmi, Shri. Mohd. Wakar, Shri. Raja Iraan and others. Al the officials expressed their views and it appeared as if two families are parting from each other. And Shri. Bahl got emotional and stated that, I do not want to part from my brothers, since this could happen after 60 years. He was left speechless at that emotional juncture. 13.Return: Our travel from Islamabad to Lahore was arranged by the Pakistans Cricket Association. This travel was without the security guards and we were accompanied by Shri. Mohd. Wakar, couch Shri. Bhatti and few others. This was a very significant and crucial initiative of Mr. Bahls life. Though he has been initiating such activities many a times but it was a matter of proud that he tried that this initiative was for the purpose of establishing peace and harmony between the two nations. It was a journey for peace. It became even more important because on 26.06.2012 Shri. Surjeet was released from the Lahore Prison after 30 years and on 15.07.2012 cricket relationship between India and Pakistan were re-established. The first step was taken by the Pakistans Sports Secretary. During our series sports officials stated that soon the sports ties would be re-established. During the entire visit Pakistani Medias role was worth appreciating and very supportive. Considering the efforts, we the executive committee of Indian Handicapped Welfare Association recommend Mr. Praveen Bahls name for the .
