Loan Discharge (GADSC1)

1.0 NSLDS Loan Discharge Extract File Layout (GADSC1)
The Loan Discharge Report (GADSC1) provides GA users with detailed student and loan discharge
information as reported by FFEL data providers. The output produced includes student identifiers
(SSN, First and Last Names and Date of Birth), loan information (Loan Type, Loan Date, Separate
Loan Indicator, OPEID, Loan Period Begin Date, Loan Period End Date and Loan Amount) as well
as loan discharge information (Discharge Type, Discharge Amount, Action Date, and Discharge
Source). The report parameter fields containing asterisks (*) select all records by default unless
otherwise specified. The information is available in a formatted report or extract file. Additional
hints for printing the formatted report in Microsoft Word are available in the Report List Help page.
Extract file layouts are available at http://www.ifap.ed.gov. GA users receive the processed data via
the SAIG mailbox associated with the NSLDS User ID requesting this report.

This section contains extract file layouts that list the header, details, and trailer records for the loan
discharge batch request file produced. Each online extract request is used to generate one header
record, one or more detail records, and one trailer record. Each record layout table contains the
position, the data element name, description, field format, and length.
