AbstractThis paper gives the guidelines for producing your manuscript for the ICEI2012 conference. The title, author(s) name and affiliation should be followed by an abstract, an introduction section, and the body of the paper. The paper is concluded with a summary, or conclusions section, and references. Abstract should not be more than 200 words, written in a single paragraph. the page, there should be 0pt space before and 6pt after the main headings. TEXT The paper must be written in English, A4, doublecolumn, single-spaced and justified paragraphs, with a font size of 10pt, in Times New Roman. The first line of each paragraph - except the first paragraph after each heading - must be indented 10pt. There is no interparagraph spacing. The margins must be formatted to 20 mm on the sides and 25 mm on the top and bottom of the paper. The column width is 82 mm (3.23 in). The space between the two columns is 6 mm (0.24 in). The paper should have a maximum length of 6 pages including figures, tables and references. Please do not insert page numbers. Keywords Please write no more than five keywords. They should be written left and right justified, in 9pt, boldface Times New Roman, and the line must begin with the words Keywords (as shown in these instructions). FIGURES If possible, position the figures at the tops and bottoms of columns. Avoid placing them in the middle of columns. Large figures may span across both columns. All figures should be numbered consecutively and captioned. The caption title should be written centred, in 8pt Times New Roman, below the figure. A 6pt space should separate the figure from the caption, and a 6pt space should separate the upper part of the figure and the bottom of the caption from the surrounding text. Although images and figures can be presented in colour in the electronic version of the paper, people may wish to print your paper in black and white. Therefore, please ensure that your paper is legible when printed in black and white. When scaling an illustration make sure the font size and line thickness are still large enough to be legible. TABLES If possible, position the tables at the tops and bottoms of columns. Avoid placing them in the middle of columns. Large tables may span across both columns. All tables should be numbered consecutively and captioned. The caption title should be written centered, in 8pt Times New Roman, above the table. A 6pt space

INTRODUCTION The aim of this document is to provide instructions for the preparation of the electronic version of your paper for the 3rd International Conference on Engineering and ICT. Follow the instructions below and prepare your paper in Microsoft Word 2003 or 2007 format, and then email the paper to icei2012@utem.edu.my before 6 January 2012. Title, Authors, Affiliation When typing your paper, please follow the order: title, author(s), affiliation(s), keywords, full text and references. The title should be written centred, in 14pt, boldface Times New Roman, all capital letters. It should be single spaced if the title is more than one line. The authors name should include the first name, middle initial (optional) and surname. It should be written centred, in 11pt boldface Times New Roman, below the title. Author's affiliation should be written centred, in 10pt, Times New Roman, below the authors name. The presenting author should be indicated by the symbol *. SECTION HEADINGS The main headings should be written centered, in 10pt and all capital Roman letters. The main headings are numbered using Roman numbers. There should a 12pt space before and 6pt after the main headings. If the main headings happen to be at the top of the page, there should be 0pt space before and 6pt after the main headings. Secondary headings Secondary headings should be written left aligned, in 10pt, italic Roman, with an initial capital for the first word only. The secondary headings are numbered in capital alphabetical order. There should be a 12pt space before and 6pt after the secondary headings. In the case when the secondary headings happen to be at the top of

should separate the Table from the caption, and a 6pt space should separate the Table and its caption from the surrounding text. EQUATIONS All equations should be written in 10pt Times New Roman and numbered. They should be centralised, with the equation number right justified. Scalars should be written in lower case italics, and matrices and vectors as bold upper case non-italic and lower case non-italic respectively. There should be a 6pt space above and below the equation. & & & mz + cz + kz = m 2Y cos(t ) & & & M g q g + Cg q g + K g q g = f ext Abbreviation and units Only the international system of units (SI) and abbreviations should be used. Abbreviations should be explained when they first appear in the text. If a nonstandard abbreviation is to be used extensively, it should be defined in full at the beginning of the text. For unit symbols, follow standard SI conventions. Thus Roman (normal upright) type is used, with spaces after the number e.g 5 Nm. Superscript powers, e.g. 30 mm2s1, are preferred (rather than 30 mm2/s). CROSS-REFERENCES Cross-references to equations, figures, tables, etc. When referring to equations, enclose the numbers in parentheses and precede them with Eq. or Eqs.. Put an unbreakable space between Eq. and the number (press Ctrl-Shift-Space to insert the unbreakable space). For example, you can refer to Eq. (1). When referring to figures, precede the number with Fig.. Put an unbreakable space between Fig. and the number (press Ctrl-Shift-Space to insert the unbreakable space). For example, you can refer to Fig. 1. When referring to tables, precede the number with the word Table. Put an unbreakable space between Table and the number (press Ctrl-Shift-Space to insert the unbreakable space). For example, you can refer to Table 1.

When referring to sections and subsections, precede the number with the word Section. Put an unbreakable space between Section and the number (press CtrlShift-Space to insert the unbreakable space). For example, you can refer to Section II. Moreover, you can also refer to Section II (A). Number footnotes separately in superscripts. Place the actual footnote at the bottom of the column in which it was cited. Do not put footnotes in the reference list1. LIST OF LITERATURE REFERENCES The heading of the references section should not be numbered. References should be written in 8pt Times New Roman. Provide a full list of authors in reference list not et al. References should be quoted in the text by numbers between brackets for example Thomsen [1] or [1]. Inclusion of the author(s) is optional, but the reference number(s) must always be given. If the inclusion of the authors is considered, citing a reference with two authors should be Williams and Yates [2], whereas Ottman et al. [3] for references with more than two authors. When more than one reference is cited, they should be cited as [1, 5, 7]. In the case when more than two references are cited sequentially in the text, they should be cited as [2-5]. References are grouped together at the end of the paper in the order to which they have been referred in the text. An example of the proper format for references is given in reference section (Example taken from Journal of Sound and Vibration). STYLES AND FORMATTING This guideline follows the styles and formatting of the actual manuscript. To check the styles and formatting, click format styles and formatting (Microsoft Word 2003). The format for the main headings, secondary headings, etc., can be revealed by clicking on the main headings, secondary headings, etc. For Microsoft Word 2007, on the home tab, maximize the styles task pane, then click apply styles. A dialog box will appear with a drop down menu listing the styles and formatting of the document. The styles of the main headings, secondary headings, etc., can be revealed by clicking on the main headings, secondary headings, etc.

Footnotes should be written in 8pt Times New Roman and must be single-spaced, and left and right justified.

CONCLUSIONS Prepare your manuscript in Microsoft Word 2003 or 2007 format, and email it with your details to icei2012@utem.edu.my. The filename of your paper should be ICEI2012_xxxx.doc or ICEI2012_xxxx.docx, where xxxx is your paper number. Proofread your manuscript carefully. You are responsible for proofreading and correcting your manuscript before submission. There will be no further proofreading once your paper has been accepted for publication in the conference proceedings. The ICEI2012 Organising Committee has the right to reject papers considered inappropriate for the proceedings, even if the extended abstract originally appeared to be acceptable.
