6.1.1 Temperature Parameters

6.1.2 Basic Functions


Once started under any mode, the compressor will keep running within 6 minutes. Once stopped, it cannot be restarted until after 3-minute lag. 6.1.2.1 Cooling Mode 6.1.2.1.1 Cooling Conditions and Process When Tamb.Tpreset+1, the unit will run under cooling mode, in which case the compressor and outdoor fan will be started, the indoor fan will run at preset speed. When T ambTpreset -1, the unit will be stopped under cooling mode, in which case the compressor and outdoor fan will be stopped and the indoor fan will run at preset speed. When Tpreset -1<T amb.< Tpreset +1, the unit will maintain its original operating status. Under this mode, the switchover vlave can not be energized, and the temperature can be set within a range from 16 to 30 .The initial value is 25 .

Dehumidifying Mode

6.1.2.2.1 Dehumidifying Conditions and Process When T amb. Tpreset +2 , the unit will run under cooling mode, in which case the compressor and outdoor fan will be started, the indoor fan will run at low speed. When Tpreset -2T amb.Tpreset +2, the compressor, and outdoor unit will run 6 minutes and stop 4 minutes in repeated cycle, while the indoor fan will run at low speed. When T amb.< Tpreset -2, the compressor and outdoor fan will be stopped. Indoor fan will run at low speed. Under this mode, the switchover vlave can not be energized, and the temperature can be set within a range from 16 to 30 .The initial value is 25 .The fan speed is forced to low sepped and unadjustable.No response if FAN button is pressed (including front panel and remote controller's).

6.1.2.3 Heating Mode (no this mode for cooling only unit) 6.1.2.3.1 Cooling Conditions and Process When T amb.Tpreset -1, the unit will run under heating mode, in which case the switchover valve, compressor and outdoor fan will be started, while the indoor fan will run in 90s at most. If T amb.Tpreset +1, the compressor and outdoor fan will be stopped, the switchover valve will remain energized and the indoor fan will stop after 10s when it runs at low speed. When Tpreset -1<T amb.< Tpreset +1, the unit will maintain its original operating status. Under heating mode, the temperature can be set within a range from 16 to 30. The initial value is 25. If the unit is switched off under heating mode or switched from heating mode to another mode, the 4-way valve will be de-energized after 2-minute lag.For the first startup of compressor , the exhaust protection will be shielded for 1 min.

6.1.2.3.2 Defrosting Conditions and Process When detecting any frost in condenser, the system will start defrost, in which case the compressor will continue to run,and outdoor fan,4-way valve and indoor fan stop running.The auxiliary electric heater,if any, will be stopped firstly. After 1-min lag, the switchover valve, indoor fan and outdoor fan will be stopped. Upon detecting completion of defrosting,the outdoor fan and 4-way valve will stat to run simultaneously,the indoor fan will run in 90s at most(overcurrent protection can not be detected),and the compressor will maintain its original operating status. Defrosting Notice:If auxiliary electric heater is stopped ,the indicator will blink and place for displaying ambient and preset temp.Once defrosting is completed ,the display of ambient will come back.

6.1.2.4Fan Mode Indoor fan will run at preset speed

6.1.2.5 AUTO Mode Under this mode, the system will automatically select its run mode (cooling, dehumidifying, heating or fan) with the change of ambient temperature. Once a mode is started, the unit will run at least 30 seconds before it can the run status under auto mode according to the ambient temperature.

6.1.3 Other Control


6.1.3.1 Sleep Function If the controller is under cooling or dehumidifying mode, the preset temperature will be increased by 1 one hour after running under sleep mode and will be increased by another 1 after two hours. The temperature will increased by 2 within two hours. After that, the unit will run at this temperature.

If the controller is under heating mode, the preset temperature will be decreased by 1 one hour after running under sleep mode and will be decreased by another 1 after two hours. The temperature will decreased by 2 within two hours. After that, the unit will run at this temperature.

Set the Temperature Tpreset

No sleep function under FAN or AUTO mode,and it can not be set. 1.The controller with setting temp display will display temp with the change of it after sleep function is set. 2.Sleep setting will be cleared upon switchover between modes, press of temp button on front panel and stop of unit, what's more, sleep function can not be memorized. 3.After the sleep function is set,if press buttons except sleep button on the panel ,the sleeping time won't been recalculated, if press buttons of the remote control ,it will be recalculated. 6.1.3.2 Timer ON/OFF function 6.1.3.2.1Timer ON When the timer is set to ON, the system will be under Timer OFF status. At the time for Timer ON, the controller will remain under its preset mode. The time interval for Timer ON or OFF is 0.5h, and can be set within 0.5 - 24 hours. 6.1.3.2.2Timer OFF You can set Timer OFF function when the unit is under ON status. Upon the time of Timer OFF the system will be switched off. The time interval for Timer OFF is 0.5h, and can be set within 0.5 - 24 hours. 6.1.3.2.3 Others 1.If the remote control can display timing ,the timing is unnecessary to decrease after it is set. 2.If timing is set,if repress buttons except TIMER on front panel or remote control ,the timing should be recalculated. 3.When controller for cooling only receives signal of stopping the unit of remote-control heating and after the unit is stopped, if set Timer ON of the unit by remote controller, the controller will receive the signal and setting is available.Once setting time reaches,the whole unit will run under the running status before stop of the unit.
6.1.3.3 Control of Swing Motor

Control it on or off with the swing key.If the indoor fan stops running ,the swing motor mustn't be started. 6.1.3.4 Buzzer If the controller is powered on or receives the signal sent by the valid keys , the buzzer will beep.
6.1.3.5 Auto Fan Speed Control of Indoor Fan

Under this mode ,the indoor fan will automatically select high,mid,or low speed with the change of ambient temp,once started,each of the speed can be switched by conditions in at least 30S. 6.1.3.6 Indicator Control If the controller is energized, the indicator will be red under standby status.Any one of the following cases happens,green indicator will blink every 6 sec.Different times of blink indicates different kind of protection. E1: High pressure protection of compressor: once; E2 : Indoor anti-freezing protection: twice; E3: Low pressure protection of compressor: 3 times; E4: High temperature protection of exhaust hose: 4 times; E5: Overcurrent protection :5 times ; E6 : Static dedusting protection: 6 times,defrosting: 7 times; The indicator is always blinking under forcible cooling or heating;

6.1.3.6 Power-off Memory Memory content, Mode ,Swing, Set temp., Set fan speed,air change,Timer (if timing hasn't arrived and power is off, when the

power is on, the timing will be recalculated; If timing has arrived and the power is off, the unit will run at the mode upon the timing after powered on. Upon powered on after powered off ,the unit can automatically start by the memory content.

6.1.4 Buttons
If heat mode is diplayed on the handset used to control the unit and the air conditioner is cooling only type,the unit will not accept any signal except for turning off the unit. If press the invalid buttons (anion,humidity, energy saving ),the buzzer will not respond,but for reserved air exchange it beeps. The relay works after pressing the buttons 2 s.
6.1.4.1 Mode Button Press the mode button and select the mode as follows :

Auto,Cool,Dehumidify,Fan ,Heat (Cooling and heating type) Auto,Cool,Dehumidify,Fan( Cooling only type) 6.1.4.2 Fan Speed Button Press the fan speed button and select as follows: Auto,low,mid,hi Under dehumidify mode,the fan speed is unadjustable.
6.1.4.3 Setting Temp Button (Temp and )

30 .Under auto mode,these buttons are invalid.If simultaneously press them,the function of all buttons on the panel will be shielded, if repress them again,the shield function will be released. 2. For the first energization of the unit, if any valid button does not be pressed: 1) If press , the unit will immediately enter into forced heating operation , all loads will be started, indoor and outdoor fan will run at high speed and all characters will be displayed.If it is detected that ambient temp or evaporator tube temp is too high or low, the buzzer will beep.The unit will stop under normal standby status in 5 min. 2) Under OFF status of the unit,pressTimer button to set Timer on, and under ON status of the unit , press this button to set Timer off.Matching wiith and ,if press this button, Timer,ON/OFF, Time, Hr will blink and then press or ,the timing will be increased or decreased by 0.5hr. 3) If press , the unit will immediately enter into forced cooling operation , all loads except 4-way valve will be started, indoor and outdoor fan will run at high speed and all characters will be displayed.If it is detected that ambient temp or evaporator tube temp is too high orlow, the buzzer will beep.The unit will stop under normal standby status in 5 min. The above functions are only for test. There is not forced heating for cooling only unit. 6.1.4.4 Timer Button If press Timer button ,Timer,ON/OFF,hr and time will blink,in which case,adjust the timing through the buttons and .The setting range is 0.5 to 24 hr.If press timer again to confirm timer, the mark of Timer on /off will be displayed but not blink.Press Timer again to cancel , but Timer on/off,the mark of Timer on /off won't display.If not pressing Timer to confirm,the unit will iresume its original setting in 10s. If pressTimer button for the first time,Timer,ON/OFF,hr and time will be displayed by 0.0 hr (press Timer again to cancel ).Press when setting time is 24hr, or press when setting time is 0.5hr.If timer display is 0.0 hr, press Timer again to cancel. 6.1.4.5 Swing Button If press Swing button once and indoor fan has run, swing motor will run.Repress this button, swing motor will stop running. 6.1.4.6 ON/0FF Button It controls On and Off of controller.Every press of it, the on and off state will switch. 6.1.4.7 Light Button(on displayer) If press Light button once,LED will display it.If repress it ,all displays on the screen except running indicator will be closed and LED lights,which is cycled like this.Every time of startup of the unit ,the light will be defaulted on . 6.1.4.8 Light Button(on remote control) The LED can be controlled by the light button on the handset:if the light is valid,the screen display is valid;By the contraty,the light is invalid,all displays on the screen except running indicator will be closed.

For floor standing unit with back light, its on or off can be controlled by Light button and it is allowed to on only there is display. For floor standing unit with light case, its on or off can be controlled by Light button.

6.1.5 Icons Display


6.1.5.1 If the power is on, only power incon at the right lower corner is displayed under off status of the unit. 6.1.5.2 Mode Icon Display

After starting the unit by remote controller or buttons, present setting running moe(cool,heat,dehumidify,fan,auto) will be displayed, and seting temp will also be displayed in tx seconds.
6.1.5.3 Fan Speed Display Corresponding fan speed(low,mid,high, auto) and dynamic sector icons will be displayed.The area of external big sector is

different for different fan speed for knowledge of speed.The internal small sector indictors are all light . Low speed:three-layer icon lights or blacks orderly from inner to outer --circularly display Middle speed:five-layer icon lights or blacks orderly from inner to outer --circularly display High speed:seven-layer icon lights or blacks orderly from inner to outer --circularly display Under auto mode,the unit will select low,mid or high fan speed and display corresponding icon according to detected temperature. 6.1.5.4 Swing Display The small sector indicators will light or black orderly (circularly display). 6.1.5.5 Timer Display If the unit hasn't received timing signal for continuous 9s during timer setting,the timer display will disappear. During stop of the unit:if timer on is set,clock, ON, hr and corresponding timing will be displayed. During start of the unit:if timer off is set,clock, OFF, hr and corresponding timing will be displayed.
6.1.5.5 Sleep The crescent icon will be displayed during setting the sleeping. When the light function is off,it only power icon is displayed.

6.1.6 Protection
6.1.6.1 Indoor Antifreeze Protection When the unit is cooling under cool or dry mode(T amb Tpreset +2 ) , if it is detected that the evaporator tube temp is too low,the system will enter into antifreeze protection status, in which case,the indicator will blink ,E2 will be displayed at the place where ambinet temp(if no,setting temp) is displayed and the other displays will also be kept.The compressor,outdoor fan,indoor fan and swing motor will keep their original status. When the evaporator tube temp resumes normal and the compressor has been stopped for 3 min, the indicator will black, display will be resumed and the controller will run under setting mnode. Thebuttons will not be shielded under antifreeze protection. 6.1.6.2 Compressor High-pressure Protection If high-pressure protection (including under off state of the unit) is detected in 3 successive seconds, the unit will close all loads and shield all buttons and remote-control signal,meanwhile,the indicator will blink and only E1 will be displayed.If it is detected that compressor high-pressure protection is released in seccessive 6 seconds, the indicator will still blink and E1 will be displayed, in which case you have to press ON/OFF button to switch off the unit before you can clear E1 display and turn off the indicator. Repress ON/OFF button to resume the operation. 6.1.6.3 Compressor Low-pressure Protection 1.After the compressor is started for 3min, if it is detected for 3 minutes successively that the low-pressure switch is broken , the complete unit will be stopped and the Indicator will blink. In 3 minutes, the unit will resume running automatically. If low-pressure switch protection occurs 2 times successively, the indicator will blink and only E3 be displayed ,in which case the unit won't resme running automatically so as to remind the user of air leakage. Press ON/OFF button to switch off the unit and repress it again to resume operation. 2.Under defrost mode, low-pressure switch signal can not be detected,which should be done after defrosting is finished 10 minutes later. 3.From the controller, you can press down SWING button and FAN SPEED button simultaneously to shield the detection of low pressure switch signal for purpose of air collection. Detection will resume automatically after 6 minutes,or you can resume detection by pressing ON/OFF key to switch off the unit and pressing it again to start the unit. 4.Under heat mode,if the outdoor ambient temp. is lower than 0 or equal to 0 ,this detection will be shielded. 5.Under heat mode,if compresoor is running while outdoor fan is stopped(Hi-temp. protection),the detection will be shield till the outdoor fan resumes running.

6.If it is detected that the low-pressure switch is off in successive30s when the compressor is stopped, the complete unit will be stopped,the indicator blink and only E3 be displayed, in which case the unit cannot be restarted automatically. You have topress ON/OFF button to switch off the unit and press this key again to restart. 6.1.5.4 Exhaust Pipe High-temp. Protection After the compressor is started, if the exhaust temperature is too high or exhaust sensor is in short circuit (or open circuit), the indicator will flickerand the unit will be stopped when the indoor ambient temperature reaches the preset value.After the compressor is stopped for 3 minutes, the complete unit will be restarted when the exhaust temperature is resumed to normal. If above phenomena occurs twice continuously, the complete unit cannot be restarted automatically, the indicator will blink and E4 will be displayed. Press ON/OFF key to switch off the unit and press it again to switch on the unit. If the exhaust temperature is normal, the unit will run under preset mode. 6.1.5.5 Indoor ultra-high temp. protection Under heating mode, if it is detected the temp. of evaporator pipe is too hi.,the outdoor fan will stop(defrosting won't be detected),if temp. gets right, outdoor fan will start running(defrosting will be detected).

6.1.5.6 Low-voltage Protection


When the conpressor is running,and it is detected that the current exceeds 25A,the unit will stop by the indoor ambient temperature reaching preset temp.After the conpressor hasnt runned for 3 min.,the unit will automatically resume its original running status.If there are more than 6 times protection (If the compressor hasnt runned for more than 6 min., the times of protection will be cleared),theindicator light flickerd,and the unit not resume its original running status,so press the ON/OFF key to stop the unit and repress the key to resume operation. 6.1.5.7 Fault Code Fault Code E1 E2 E3 E4 E5 Definition Compressor High-pressure Protection Indoor Antifreeze Protection Compressor Low-pressure Protection Exhaust Pipe High-temp. Disassemble Air-in Panel
Use screwdriver to unscrew the holding screw at the air-in frame, and forcefully pull out the air-in grill. Fig.7-1 Screw

Disassemble 4-Way Valve


Screw off the holding nut of the 4-way valve coil and remove the coil. Use wet cotton cloth to wrap the 4-way valve, unsold the four soldering points connecting the 4-way valve, and remove the 4-way valve. Be quick during the unsoldering process, pay attention to keep the wrapping cloth wet and do not allow the soldering flame to burn the compressor lead-out cable. Fig 7-25 Fig 7-24

Trouble-Shooting
When set circuit breaker ON, it trips immediately as
Check insulation resistance for grounding; Confirm if air-conditioning unit has electrical leakage or is short-circuited

Trip of circuit breaker or burn-out of fuse

When turning the air-conditioning unit to the ONstatus, trip of circuit breaker occurs several minutes later
