JUNE 2012

The Church is a good family

PANAMA

WORK REPORT

Saturday, June 16, the women of the Vista Alegre Church organized a party to honor men on fathers day. They put all their effort into the program, even the small details. Everything was wonderful. While the children were reciting poems and singing songs, I could not avoid thinking that some of them do not live with both parents, whether they are divorced or their mothers are single mothers. However, with the simplicity and purity which characterizes the children, they sang and honored ten fathers who were present. One of the men of the Church told me how much he appreciated the Church, and did so with this sentence: the Church is a good family. I agree with this man. I myself grew up without the figure of my father at home and when I gave up my life to Christ I found in God the best father and I found a wonderful family in the Church. I thank God because my job is to help strengthen the Church as a spiritual family. My work with the churches of Pedregal and Vista Alegre continues normally. In Vista Alegre I preach on Sundays and teach the adults class. We are currently studying the book of proverbs. While in Pedregal, I am in charge of the class on Thursdays. We are studying 2 Timothy. I had the privilege of preaching the Gospel to a woman who came to the Pedregal Church the first Sunday of June brought by her mother-in-law, who is a member of the Church. I went to visit her the next day and after presenting the plan of God for salvation, to my surprise, she accepted the call to obey the same day. I must inform you that she had attended the Church occasionally for many years. Since her baptism she meets with the Church. How much joy it gives me to see her attending every Thursday at the weekly Bible study! I've been twice in Las Garzas Church lately. Saturday, June 23rd, my wife and I went to lead a meeting for couples. Although the meeting was previously announced as a meeting for spouses, there was as about five women who arrived without their respective spouses. In total, I think that about twenty-five people attended. I thank God that in His mercy, he gives me the opportunity to lead the marriage ministry, despite the fact that I have many limitations. I feel fortunate to having a wide range ministry. The marriages ministry in figures Four group of couples meet once every two months. In total 40 people participating Three couples of spouses working with my wife and me in this Ministry. Two years having this Ministry One evaluation and planning meeting takes place every two weeks

"Building a better family" is the motto of our Ministry. At the meeting in Las Garzas, I was delighted by this Ministry. I want to tell you why. I believe that my wife and I have led four meetings for couples in Las Garzas church within the last year. I remembered a woman arriving alone at the first meeting. Since many people came up to talk to me, I didn't have the time to talk with her. She continued attending alone the following meetings, though. On October 22, 2011, she attended the romantic dinner accompanied by her husband. At some point between October and the previous months, she was been baptized in the Church of Las Garzas. I hope to not bore you with this story. There is still something else. At this last meeting, (June 23, 2012) there was a couple who I had not seen before. He grabbed her hand during my presentation and both were attentive to my message. After the meeting I approached them and told them that it was the first time I saw them. She told me that this was her second time attending these meetings, and that the first time she had attended alone. I was even more surprised when the first woman - who went to the dinner with her husband - approached me and told me that this second woman was her sister. The first woman of my story brought her sister to the meetings for couples. God is doing great things in the lives of couples. I can assure you that God brought to the Church to these two families through this Ministry. Glory to God. I also returned to Las Garzas on Sunday July 1st to close with my message the gospel meetings the church was holding that weekend with the participation of a group of Americans who support this church. On this occasion I had the opportunity to dust off my English by preaching a bilingual sermon . Thank you for supporting my Ministry. Please feel free to forward my report to whom you consider that may be interested in learning about what God is doing through my Ministry in Panama.
