Yom Kippur/ Our Day of Covering. Lev. 23: 26 32. Sept. 30-Oct.

1, 2011

I.

This festival is rife with profound and yet, perplexing innuendo that can only be explained when we look at it through the lens of the Hebrew language. Lets begin with the name of the festival itself. Yom Kippur the Day of Atonement or Covering. Yom Kippurim, , The Day of Atonement(s)/Covering(s). Atonement, #3725, kippur, to atone, redeem. It is from the word #3722, kapar, meaning to cover, purge, to coat or cover with pitch. To atone for by legal rites.

There are two variations in this definition that call attention to 2 other specific first occurrences of this words usage. Gen. 3:21 & Gen. 6:14.We cannot see the hidden, nuanced meanings embedded in this festival without dissecting these two verses. Gen. 3 tells us of YHVH slaughtering the Lamb in order to COVER KIPPUR, Adam & Eve. In fact, it is the blood of the garment that coated or pitched Adam the first ARK! Which is exactly what is written in Gen. 6:14. This scene in Ch. 3 is the FIRST REHEARSAL OF THE DAY OF COVERING/ATONEMENT! Gen. 3:21 tells us YHVH slaughtered a lamb to make a coat for Adam and Eve. The Hebrew word for coat, is #3801, kthoneth, a coat or tunic covering the entire body. Its two letter roots, KafTav = to divide, cut, a separation. While the Nun-Tav hints at tracking or tracing the way. This was the first instance of Circumcision as well, a picture of One who would be cut off from the earth Messiah! It is also interesting to see the Hebrew hint in Gen. 3: 8 where were told The Voice is walking in the cool, #7307,

ruwach of the day. Though it is

translated, breath, or wind, it comes from the root of #7306, ruach, which means to smell, touch, perceive and to gain quick understanding, as in Is. 11: 3. The verses here speak of the Rod of Jesse The BRANCE who will be of quick understanding in the fear of YHVH! Adam and Eve knew the significance of the Day! It is also worth noting in Gen. 6:14, the word play (in Hebrew) between the types of wood used to build the Ark and the coating used to pitch the ark. First, lets look at an interesting word in verse 13, where YHVH says the END of all flesh has come: #7093, qets, end, extremity, to sever, cut off. *Note the word play with that of Kaf-Tav, to divide, cut, and separate. Gophers, #1613, gopher, most translate it as cypress wood, but it comes from an unused root meaning, to house in. The Gimel indicates, to lift up, to transport. While the two-letter root, Pey-Resh, #6499, means a bull as a sacrifice, and is an idiom for the fruit of our lips. The numeric value of gopher, Gimel-Pey-Resh = 283, the same as the phrase

translated, Ark of YHVH. Interestingly, it is also the

gematria of #2146, zikrown, a memorial, the same word used in regard to these festivals. It is at this festival Yom Kippur - that the High Priest enters the Most Holy Place where this Ark rested! Pitch, #3724, kopher, a resin for pitching (from the cypress), also the price or ransom of a life. Youll note the same two-letter root, Pey-Resh, with the addition of the Kaf, which means the palm or the hand, authority. Ironically, it is the Kaf that (along with the lamed) is connected to the Altar of Sacrifice.

These two words tell us: Housed in the Ark was the ONE lifted up as a sacrifice; thus, we lift up the fruit of our lips to the One who ransomed our lives and who restored our authority on the Altar of Sacrifice! If we look at the numbers in the Arks dimensions 300-50-30 = 380, the same as the Hebrew word for tongue lashon! When used as a verb, it hints at slander, uttering false statements, the origin of which can be traced back to Gen. 3 and the Serpent, and it applies to those who would need this Kippurim Covering to redeem them! Now, lets break this down a little more: Kopher has a value of 300, leaving us with 50 the Nun, life, and the Lamed to teach, urge toward, the Shepherd! These dimensions tell the story of REDEMPTION Torah is

the Covering for your life! Torah the Word Messiah is the covering! 50+30=80, the number of the Pey-Mouth! It is no accident that the final resting place of the Ark was in Solomons temple in Jerusalem, a piece of property purchased by King David for 50 shekels in 2 Sam. 24: 24. Remember, this is the season that teaches us to NUMBER our days as reflected in Ps. 90: 12During the 10 days of awe we remember our days are counted and we dont have time to waste. So teach [us] to number our days, that we may apply [our] hearts unto wisdom.

Limenot yaminu hoda venavo levav chokmah! Number, #4487, manah, to count, reckon, a designated time for counting. It is also the same as #4484 Mene, the term used for weights and measures in Dan. 5: 25, 26. MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This term applies to Belshazzar, the King of Babylon who is weighed (numbered, counted) in the balance and found wanting. Belshazzar is translated as: Bel protect the King, but a better rendering is: Bel Master (Shin who destroys) Asar, a treasure or stored items, one in charge of such. Thus, Master who destroys the treasure. This prophetic appellation may have been because he would defile and pervert the Treasures of YHVH, desecrating the vessels at his own festival during the Fast of Yom Kippur. Belshazzar was told he was weighed in the Balance, found wanting, and that he would be destroyed by Persia, #6540, Parac, translated here as; pure or splendid, however, it is spelled the same as the root of UPHARSIN PARAS TO BREAK IN TWO TO DIVIDE, A HALF SHEKEL, referring to Messiah THE BREAKER, the Half Shekel who redeemed Israel! It is this BREAKER spoken of in Micah 2: 12, 13, where the

Sheepfold is led by the one who broke the Bands of Captivity, from off the Chained Bride. Ironically, the Greek title of this Breaker is PERSEUS, from Peretz in Hebrew and is spelled almost like Persia! This is the Nation who broke the power of Belshazzar Babylon! Another interesting note is the letters that spell Persia Perac, Pey-Resh-Samech: If you change them to Samech-Pey-Resh, it spells sepher to write, declare, to recount, to number, and book! The BOOK will destroy those who do not repent and are numbered by Yom Kippur! Now, the term Mene = 50 shekels and is repeated twice. This term is used for the ransom of one guilty of fornication and it was, as noted above, the Blood Price of the place where the Plague was released on Israel because David NUMBERED THE PEOPLE! This place would become the Temple Mount area in Jerusalem. Lets note the former owner of the Land: Araunah the Jebusite: And Gad came that day to David and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite. 2 Sam. 24:18. Araunah, #728, ' Aravnah, Strongs translates it as: I will shout for Joy. You will note the Resh Vav Hey which can be rendered Shout as in Yom Te(ruah) the Day of Shouting Joy! However, Araunah is cognate with #727, aron, meaning ARK again connecting us to the Ark of the Covenant which is approached during this Solemn Holy Day. But, lets not stop there: Araunah was also named Ornan (1Chr. 21: 15) #771, ' Ornan, translated, Light was perpetuated, youll note the Alef-Resh root for light, Ore and the Nun-Nun root meaning life. This follows the same pattern of the Day of Atonement. The Light of Life, found within the Ark of the Covenant ransomed those who were being judged by the pestilence, Deber the destroying word! Who was destroyed? 70 thousand men of Israel. Seventy has the same root as Sabbath Shava, to covenant, to swear an oath. The word for thousand, #505, alef, can also mean to teach. Thus, 70,000 who taught a COVENANT OF MEN were destroyed! This is the same premise that HaSatan used, you shall be as gods. Yet, YHVH promises to redeem man after 120 jubilees seasons. 120 x 50 = 6000. Ironically, in 1 Chr. 21:25, David is shown to have paid 600 shekels rather than the 50 mentioned earlier. This would have been 50 shekels per each of the 12 tribes 12 x 50 = 600. 600 is

the age of Noah when the flood began and also the gematria of the Final Mem, meaning water, chaotic waters in the womb! The bitter waters of jealousy. How fitting that on Yom Kippur the waters that judge also become the Mikveh for the Bride! Throughout Torah this term mikveh, #4723, connotes a gathering together of the waters, a place of collection gathering. Yet, it also means hope and is from the root #6960, qavah, to wait eagerly for, expectantly, to collect gather together for the waiting. Jeremiah uses the same term with a wonderful twist Jer. 14:8 O the hope [mikveh] of Israel, the saviour, #3460, yasha` thereof in time of trouble, #6869, tsarah, distress, trouble, also a vexing wife! He is asked why He acts as a stranger during this time of trouble! Without doubt, it is during this same season that the wrath of YHVH is poured out upon the earth and it becomes a day of calamity for all those who love not His appearing! This is reminiscent of Matt. 9:20 where the Niddah (issue of blood) Woman touched Yahshua. She had a divine appointment, while the Law said she must declare her unclean state and dead blood, she knew if she touched Yahshua she could declare she was cleansed by touching the hem/border - #3671, kanaph, wing, skirt, garment, which would cover her like Ruth-Boaz. She touched him from behind the back part, Back part, Hebrew #268, ' achowr, a masc. noun meaning back. It implies both behind and the future. Thus, Moshe saw the End/Future from the Beginning (Ex. 33:23) and this woman fulfilled it as well by being covered by the same hand that covered Moshe! Ach-owr, also implies, Brother light. Yahshua was/is the Brother of Light! The gematria of achowr = 215, the same as #3384, yarah, to shoot, throw, to show or reveal, to teach, the same root as T(orah) You shall reveal, teach! After touching Messiah and the Niddah flow stops, one is required to have a ritual mikveh in living water. Yom Kippur is the Day of the ritual wedding mikveh! The woman above was diseased for 12 years, 12 is the gematria of #10, ' abaddoh, meaning abyss - the place of the dead. The Rabbis teach: That

Perfection the number 3 gimel is missing, the one who lifts us up, the one who goes between Abba and us! The Smoking Lamp taking Abrahams place The Messiah, Yahshua. Another foreboding parallel can also be seen here: In Rev. 9:11 a King of the Abyss [abaddoh] called Abbadon also Apollyon, the Destroyer, will arise teaching men to kill during the wars of Great Tribulation. Ironically, during Yom Kippur The Day of Atonement 2 goats are chosen, one for YHVH the other for Azazel, who would be sent into the barren place for the sins of men. The Book of Enoch describes an Angel who was bound in the abyss (for teaching men the art of warfare) awaiting his final judgment. It is Messiah who will defeat him and implement His kingdom for 1000 years. This woman symbolizes the Bride who for 120 x 50 = 6000 years has not been able to be healed by anyone until she touches Messiah. She is set free on the heels of Yahshua defeating the LEGIONS OF GEDARA. The Greek word Gaderene is translated a reward follows or comes at the end. Just as in the Prophet Gad who comes to David to bring a word of instruction that brings reward Yom Kippur is the Day of Jubilee for THE BRIDE, but a day of destruction for her enemies! Incidentally, the Pig was associated with the Egyptian god Set associated with darkness and death. How apropos that Yahshua would send the demons back to their hosts!
