Brick, tiles, paver block industry

In the fast paced construction projects speedy, timely and safe transportation of construction materials is always a key success factor. Construction companies are leaning towards more and more use of concrete or fly ash brick blocks, paver blocks, tiles for construction of modern building and structures. Due to the shortage of safe space for storing and to maintain low inventory of these materials at project sites, it is desired to have these materials delivered just in time. In most of the cases, it is responsibility of manufacturers of blocks, to deliver and unload their goods to the project site.

Conventional way of material handling In most cases, loading of blocks is done either manually or by fork lift (if palletized) at manufacturing site. However, in unloading sites, the manual handling remains the only solution. Over and above, if the blocks are to be reached at higher than ground floor level, this costs additional money and manpower. Manual handling results into damage and costs money. Due to slow loading and unloading process, the truck remains idle for longer time and turnaround time becomes more thus resulting lesser trips. Solutions Multi-utility PALFINGER Knuckle Boom Cranes equipped with hydraulic power at boom end, can be coupled with specially made brick clamps to handle more loads per loading cycle, thereby reducing the loading and unloading time. Due to its ability towards better outreach the same crane can also be used for delivering blocks at higher floor without any extra cost. The Crane can move 40-60 beyond 360, achieving a total of 400-420, thus enables manoeuvrability in stock yard or construction site. Top seat option on the crane column, gives eye contact on load 360 for better, faster & perfect loading and unloading operations. Safety of loading clamp is ensured through internal pressure relief valve (independent from crane pressure) and non return valve (safe clamping force at pressure drop).

The brick grab attachment can be easily de-coupled from crane thus enabling use of crane for general purposes. Crane can be mounted behind the cabin or rear of chassis, as per the customer's choice. PALFINGER proposes different capacity of cranes & truck combination for various loading options depending on the block size and weight to be handled.
