Majority of VCTC trees are boxed. However, a selection of trees are grown in-ground at Piru and Farmington nurseries. These trees are planted as small lining out stock and then harvested 5-10 years later as specimen trees.

THE HISTORY OF THE BOXED TREE

In the early Valley Crest Landscape Nurseries days, sometime in the 1950s, Burt Sperber started growing trees in metal egg containers so he could plant them year-round. Ingenious! Over time the need for bigger trees developed so Burt and his brother, Stuart, came up with the idea of growing trees in wooden boxes. This was the foundation of VCTC and helped the company become the leading grower of containerized trees.

Moved 1,500 palms for a client who was selling their property, but wanted to keep palms for their delicious dates, to another property the customer owned.
