Miranda Barbee Text Set To locate the books I used for my text set I went to the Teaching Resources

Center in Joyner Library. I looked up books on the computer database that pertained to the civil rights movement and found many great books that would be good for my text set. The different genres that I have are one graphic biography, one fiction, one picture book biography, one non-fiction, and one historical fiction. The original literature circle book is called Freedom on the Menu by Carole Boston Weatherford and it is about the sit-ins in Greensboro NC and Dr. King. The books that I choose in my text set all have to do with events and people that were in the time of the civil rights movement. I have one book that further explains the sit ins, one book on Martin Luther Kind Jr, one book on Rosa Parks, one book on the stories of African Americans, and one book on a childrens point of view of standing up for African American rights.
