Temporary Visiting Visa


Temporary visiting visa is issued for the foreigners who stay in Japan less than 90 days. The condition to obtain visa varies according to the nationality. Some nationalities are allowed to extend the stay more than 90 days. Please see the requirement of each nationality on page 20.

Visa Application Procedure for 2012

Student Visa
In order to obtain Japanese student visa, firstly we apply for COE(Certificate of Eligibility) at Immigration Bureau in Japan. When the COE is issued, each applicant applies for visa at local Japanese Embassy (Consulate). Thats why it takes time for visa issuance. We recommend early preparation of the documents.

How to change visa status from Temporary visiting visa to Student visa

If you finish applying for COE before you come to Japan, you can enter Japan with temporary visiting visa and change the visa status after obtaining COE. In this way you can start the course as you planned even if you dont have enough time before the course start.

Home address should be the applicants detailed current address. Please write #8. The educational back ground from the elementary school, and please fulfill the schools detailed address. Period of Study should match to the certificates from those schools. #3. Place of Birth should not be only country, but also city name. #12. State the objectives and the plan after graduation from ISI clearly. #13. Write the name of the school and major which students plan to go after graduation from ISI.
