PLEASE JOIN US and invite your friends & neighbors! Dave Ramsey is a Christian radio talk show host who teaches people Biblical financial principles in a down-to-earth manner so that they can add Financial Peace to their lives and to be free to truly live for Christ as God intends. Please join us on Saturday, September 8th at 7:00 p.m. to view a video presentation from Dave Ramsey on Christian giving entitled The Great Misunderstanding: Unleashing the Power of Giving. In his presentation, Mr. Ramsey shows us how and why giving is an essential component of our drive to achieve financial peace in our lives. Dave Ramsey is a nationally syndicated radio talk show and his Dave Ramsey Show airs on AM 1390 in the Lansing area 2:00-5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Also, his Financial Peace University classes are taught in thousands of churches and other organizations nationwide to lead people to drastically improve their financial situation. MICHIGAN MEN OF FAITH: The theme for this years Michigan Men of Faith is Called to Excellence, and will be held Sept. 29, at Great Lakes Adventist Academy. You can register by going to www.campausable.org and clicking Registration. For questions, please contact Alanna Knapp at 517316-1570, or at aknapp@misda.org. IMPACT NEWS: Last Sabbath, 30 packets of school supplies for homeless children were prepared by the Lansing church kindergarten class and were delivered to the City Rescue Mission Family Center (S. Cedar St.) by Impact volunteers following completion of their service assignment at Volunteers of America (N. Larch St.). At both of these homeless shelters Lansing church Impact volunteers come face to face with community needs and experience meaningful community outreach work. Last Saturday night at VOA, a seriously ill man in a wheelchair asked a volunteer for a glass of milk, but there was no milk. Due to the rapid increase in homelessness, there are not enough food supplies or volunteer servers to satisfy current needs. IMPACT'S VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE FOR SEPTEMBER is posted on the bulletin board near the restrooms. For information about different ways to participate in this important ministry call Impact Coordinator- Linda Cabose at (517) 321-2019. Prayer requests for Prayer Warriors: Call Jean Engel at 517-321-1172 or Nola Collins at 517-669-5173. You may also email Jean at lengel381@gmail.com or Nola at gturtelle1@yahoo.com.

THE LANSING PRAYER WARRIORS and the Holt Prayer Team would like to invite you to join with us in a concerted prayer effort seeking the Holy Spirit to guide, direct and lead us in three areas: pray for wisdom for our Pastors, unity among our members and the entire world-wide Church, and the Great Controversy project for one week beginning September 9-16, 2012. Pray daily for these concerns in your personal devotion time with the Lord. We feel the urgency of the times in which we live and believe this prayer push will put us on track to finishing the work before us and prepare us for what God would have us do. The week will culminate in a Prayer Breakfast in the Community Service Center September 16 at 10 am and launch into the study of book three, 40 Days: God's Health Principles for His Last-Day People. Jean Dickerson has graciously agreed to secure books for us. Each book is $12.99 + tax. Please let us know quickly the number you need in order for them to be available by 9/16. You may select your own study partner or study with someone from Holt. If you have studied this book already, you may want to study with someone else either from Holt or Lansing. It is dynamic and you will be richly blessed. Requesting health and healing: Jacob Ashburn, Merritt Fellows, Jean Mauz, Evelyn Melton, Noah Nettrouer, Don Rebedew, Felipe Rodriguez, Suzie Ruiz, Emily Sanchez, Diane Stephan, Lorna Weisner (Eileen Campbells sister) and Jimi Wilcox. Requesting prayer for safety in the military: Zach Chamblee, Chris Hansen, Dennis Mayne, Tracy Shook, Claire Thomas, and Jenny Wilcox. Everyone Bring One Please remember this program. Everyone bring one food item each Sabbath for the Community Service Center and Greater Lansing Food Bank. Thank you your continued support is appreciated. MISSION TRIP UPDATE: The 2012 Maranatha mission team has been given a church to build! Santuario, or Sanctuary in English, is the name of our church in Juigalpa, Nicaragua, about a three hour drive from the capital city of Managua. Currently this 40 member congregation is meeting in members homes. If you would like to learn more about the project; help give them a permanent church home by joining this adventure; or give financial support, please visit the project website at michiganmission.org or contact David or Judy Shull at 616.453.8132, email: jshull@misda.org. Financial support for the Nicaragua mission project can be made by marking your tithe envelope with Nicaragua Mission Trip Volunteers if you want to help people going on the trip or Nicaragua Mission Trip Church Building if you would like to help with the construction of the sanctuary building. Please continue to pray for this exciting ministry.
