To deliver lectures on a range of courses To manage/tutor courses To promote Equality and Diversity through teaching and tutorial Lecturer Spot Head of School School of Engineering Boundary Road, Farnborough 37 hours per week x 52 weeks per year

DESCRIPTION OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Tutoring and administration of FE and HE courses Delivery of course lectures on FE and HE programmes Visits to Students on placement Marking, assessment and internal moderation of student work appropriate to teaching commitments Tutorial and pastoral work Working with outside agencies, e.g. providers of work experience placements, to ensure learners are safeguarded and protected Course promotion and marketing Other duties as deemed necessary

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION: EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: ATTAINMENTS OR ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL

Degree or NVQ 4 in an appropriate subject Teaching qualification is desirable though not essential as training will be given

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCE: Have relevant industry experience Good links with relevant employers Ability to work with a minimum of supervision ESSENTIAL OR SPECIFIC SKILLS/COMPETENCIES OR APTITUDES: Skill and ability to work with Adults and 16 19 year old age groups

PERSONALITY/BEHAVIOURAL CHARACTERISTICS: Outgoing with a sense of humour Reliable Flexible Versatile Genuine interest in the education and welfare of young people Understanding of the needs and expectations of young people
