Easter Island
Easter Island is in the South Pacific, 3,700 kilometres from the coast of Chile. On the island, there are 600 large statues. We don't know who built them but they were probably constructed between 1150 and 1500. We don't really know why they are there. The Norwegian explorer, Thor Heyerdahl, believed that they were built by people from South America. To prove this, he made a simple raft and sailed there, all the way from Peru. Archaeologists think that the statues represent dead tribal leaders. We don't the builders used all the natural resources on the island. There are many unanswered questions about Easter Island. WHITE PELICAN The white pelican is one of the most successful fish eating birds. The success is largely due to its command hunting behavior. A group, perhaps two dozen birds, will gather in curved are some distance offshore. Surabaya's Juanda International Airport has won the Culture and Tourism Ministry's 2009 toilet award, beating out 2007 winner Denpasar's Ngurah Rai Airport, which now drops to fourth. Ive always given Justin the benefit of the doubt that hes good! I voted for him at the VMAs because I believe he deserves every second of it! he won that award and It made me feel good that I voted! His music isnt bad although some of it is directed towards girls his age while the rest is just really good pop music! I wasnt going to see this movie although I wouldnt have minded, until I heard it was just that Good I went one day with a few friends and it really makes you think and is most defenetly an amazing picture! Then I went to see it again with some more friends who didnt believe and now do, that was the Directors cut edition which I must say was even better maybe they will release that but who knows! This movie shows how he grew up always loving music and instruments but also going to school and having friends just like we did, he did sports, hung out with his friends and all the stuff we did hes no different just one day his videos posted on Youtube were seen by the right people at the right time and his dream came true! in everyway he wanted and that he wouldnt change anything! SNAKE IN THE BATH

How would you like to find a snake in your bath? A nasty one too! We had just moved into a new house, which had been empty for so long that everything

was in a terrible mess. Anna and I decided we would clean the bath first, so we set to, and turned on the tap.

Suddenly to my horror, a snakes head appeared in the plug-hole. Then out slithered the rest of his long thin body. He twisted and turned on the slippery bottom of the bath, spitting and hissing at us. For an instant I stood there quite paralysed. Then I yelled for my husband, who luckily came running and killed the snake with the handle of a broom. Anna, who was only three at the time, was quite interested in the whole business. Indeed I had to pull her out of the way or shed probably have leant over the bath to get a better look! We found out later that it was a black mamba, a poisonous kind of snake. It had obviously been fast asleep, curled up at the bottom of the nice warm water-pipe. It must have had an awful shock when the cold water came trickling down! But nothing to the shock I got! Ever since then Ive always put the plug in firmly before running the bath water.

My Adventured at Leang-Leang Cave

On Sunday, my parents, my best fruend Novi, and I visited a cave at Maros called Leang-leang . It was my first time to visit the cave, better yet, my best friend came to visit it with me! The cave was famous for its primitive cave wall paintings which were some hand prints and wild boar paintings. The cave and its surroundings was turned into a national park, so it was taken care of. My parents took a rest in a small hut for visitors of the park, while Novi and I adventured around the cave with a guide. We had to climb some metal stairs to get to the cave, because the cave was embedded into a small mountain. Next stop was a place where some seashells littered the ground and some were actually piled into a big mound! The guide said that these piles of seashells are called kjokkenmoddinger, or kitchen trash. The humans who lived here ate the shells and dumped the left overs in their 'kitchen'. The last place was a small museum where they have skeletons of the humans who lived in the caves. The skeletons along with some roughly made jewelry and weapons were placed inside glass cases for display. The walls of the museum were adorned with photographs taken when they did an excavation there. After a quick lunch with Novi and my parents, we decided it was time to go back home. We really had the time of our lives.

Giving Children Homework

There are a lot of discussion as to whether children should be given homework or not. Is it enough for children having time to study at school or needing additional time in home for study after school time? Some people claim that children do enough work in school already. They also argue that children have their hobbies which they want to do after school, such as sport or music. A further point they make is that a lot of homeworks are pointless and does not help the children learn at all.

However, there are also strong arguments against this point of view. Parents and teachers argue that it is important to find out whether children can work on their own without the support from the teacher. They say that the evening is a good time for children to sit down and think about what they have learned in school. Furthermore they claim that the school day is too short to get anything done.
