A. Green product definition.

Energy efficient, environmentally friendly, the term is applied to systems and products that save energy directly or indirectly. For example, capturing rainwater saves the energy required to pump the water from a well and also lessens flooding and other runoff problems. Products that are built with recycled materials or are more compact, more energy efficient and less wasteful of materials in general than their previous models are often labeled green. The green concept includes using less packaging materials, recycling toner cartridges and providing a return location for used batteries. Switching from paper manuals to electronic manuals is also green. See green PC, green datacenter and green building. B. Woolworths Woolworths is a good example of South Africa Company that creates consumer awareness of climate change in several ways, informing, educating it customers about importance of recycling products. Woolworths is working together with PETCO to improve containers, packaging that can be recyclable and be able to be used again. Although Woolworth had made some progress, there is still a disappointing low level of engagement with customers on green issues in-store and in educating consumers about the environmental and social impacts their choices make. For example there is inadequate or insufficient information on greener choices (seasonal produce, sustainable fish) or green behavior (recycling or reducing carrier bag use) Woolworths has done a lot to engagement with the public to support behavior change towards more sustainable consumption.

PETCO is still working with Woolworths and other retailer and has established retailers for recycling forum, with founding members being Pick N Pay, Woolworths, and Clicks. Promote in-store consumer education and awareness and encourage consumers to recycle and re-use the container and packages. Cooperate with suppliers to ensure product packaging is designed with recycling in mind. Woolworths have appropriate in-store awareness campaign aimed at consumer about importance of recycling, and purchasing recyclable products containers. Woolworth is delighted that they are working collectively with PETCO to advance packaging reduction, re-use and recycle. Woolworths also have realize that as the retailer they are the interface between production and consumption, who better than them to lead awareness amongst consumers.
