Good education demand good teachers.

Over the course of the twentieth century, as the teaching profession has grown, so have its standard risen. Many teacher-training courses in Malaysia now last for four to five years and follow after 12 years of schooling: teachers have now had four more years of part-time education than used to norm. Society has steadily expected more of teachers in the variety of tasks they have to perform, in the skills they need to master and in the imagination required for their work. Rising expectations have brought rising quality. So this is the case for updating the Ministry of Education Malaysia to introduce the Teacher Education Division Graduate Teachers systems simultaneously throughout Malaysia. In accordance, the Graduate Teacher Programme under the auspices of Sultan Idris Training Institute was introduced in March this year. Thousands of educators have applied for this course and successfully have passed their first semester. Liability courses funded by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. This is an excellent start for educators to increase their level. This is one purpose of the Ministry to provide standards for the education of our country. Education in the country's industrial sector is changing dynamically and is calculated to have a lot of change and renewal by the 21st century. The objective of making Malaysia a center of excellence in education (center for academic excellence) in the asian region and internationally in the 21st century requires countries later this increases the image of excellence and quality education to the world standards or obtain a status of "World Class Education". Shows the development of world-class education and the rapid and dynamic development of education, particularly in terms of quality, quantity, standards, excellence and kredentialiti recognized and accepted internationally, or the world. Viewed from a broader perspective, 'World-Class Education' means the ability. The 27 teacher training intraining institutes,as for in service training for practising teachers,some of the universities do plan and organize short term courses,and conferences for teachers 2 enhance their teaching abilities and their professional and personal development as well as increase knowledge.The faculty of educational studies in UPM organize off-shore and distance education programs for busy teachers who are unable to attend campus-based academic programs.Almost all the faculties of education in the 13 universities have organized national and international conferences,where in-service teachers have either presented papers or

participated in the conferences.This is the recent trend engagement in professional development of teachers in Malaysia. The postgraduate Diploma in Teaching is a one year course while the Bachelor in Teaching is a five and a half year course.For the In-service training,the two-to three day refresher courses are conducted by lectures from the various departments for practising teachers.Phonolgy and Phonetics for English language teachers and Teaching using the Inquiry method for science teachers are some examples of refresher courses.The teacher training institutes also provide sixweek,10-week and 14-week courses in various disciplines for practicing teachers.One very important service course is the three year Diploma in Teaching conducted for practicing temporary teachers in school.The post graduate Diploma in Teaching is a one year course for graduates with a degree in the relevant subject from any local or foreign university recognized by the Malaysian government.Apart from these corses,the three year Diploma in Teaching in-service course is conductedduring the school holidays.This course specially designed to cater to the many untrained teachers who have been teaching in Malaysian schools for several years and have missed out on mainstream teacher training. Education is the process of developing the essential potentialities,through preparing the suitable environmental conditions for their perfections and removing obstacles which prevent their natural development.teacher training is considered as a powerful means of professional development of teachers and convenient approach to their education.Teachers should therefore be trained to develop people around to be part of the society and the industry that define the needs of the nation.fulfilling the skills and the knowledge in various fields of their choice,desirable values and positive attitudes towards work and profession may have been missed by the educators as part and parcels of the educative process.
