Historic Lakeport's Summer Charm

Known for its popular recreational activities and free Friday night concerts in Library Park during the summer, the lovely little town by the lake will host the annual Taste of Lakeport coming up on Friday, August 17. This festival draws over 700 people each year and features the best of Lake County fine wines and gourmet food, with up to 20 pairings.

This 16th annual wine tasting event features gourmet food, wine tasting, live music, and dancing. Twenty wineries offer tastings of premium Lake County wines that have been carefully paired with tasty bites from local restaurateurs and caterers. A lively street dance with the Jimmy Z band follows.

44 Ferel Cats Spayed and Neutered

The Animal Coalition of Lake County sponsored a Ferel Cat Spay & Neuter Day on Saturday, July 14th. Thanks to the special people who donated their whole Saturday, at no charge, to spay and neuter ferel cats. Dr. Chris Holmes, DVM, and his tech, Polly Holt, from Wasson Memorial Veterinary Clinic Hospital, Lakeport. Dr. Debra Sally, DVM, and her tech, Rebecca Bloomquist, from Clearlake Veterinary Clinic, Clearlake. Diane Tullos, tech volunteer of the Animal Coalition. Kathy Crothers donated the SPCA in Kelseyville for the surgeries. Lake County has the highest euthanasia rates in California!
