What You Need to Know About Student Insurance

Waiver Requirement
Beginning Fall 2008, Embry-Riddle requires that all students have health insurance. The Universitys plan, underwritten
by United Healthcare Student Resources, is in effect for one year and provides continuous coverage, anywhere in the
United States and while traveling abroad. This plan is renewable on an annual basis. If you already have private health
insurance and wish to waive out of the student plan, you MUST complete a waiver or you will be charged for the student
insurance. THE WAIVER DEADLINE FOR Fall 2010 IS September 6, 2010. Failure to waive the insurance by the semester
deadline will result in the non-refundable insurance fee remaining on your student account.
The waiver form can be found in your own ernie account. Start in ERNIE and click on insurance waivers under student
resources. If you have not already set up your ERNIE account, go to http://www.erau.edu, click on ERNIE in the top tab,
and follow the instructions to set up your account. Log into webadvisor and select the students box on the right. Click
on Insurance Waivers under the financial Information banner. The option to waive coverage will only be available
during the active enrollment period at the beginning of each semester. Please contact Health Services (tele: 386-226-
7917) with questions about the insurance requirement or waiver form.
For a full description of coverage including costs, benefits, exclusions, reductions and limitations, and the terms under
which the coverage may remain in force, please go to the UnitedHealthcareStudentResources website www.uhcsr.com
(click on Find My Schools Plan and select Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University). Should you have any questions,
please contact UnitedHealthcareStudentResources directly at 1-800-237-0903 ext. 6246.
