In line with this, we would like to request support from your office through a formal endorsement of our proposed activity to meet with HEIs who may be interested in exploring opportunities for the enhancement of their IT-related curriculum, avail of faculty development and course materials and introduce enhancements of faculty capabilities on cloud computing, information security and data science. Specifically, we intend to host the EMC Academic Alliance Initiative, a forum for HEIs who may be interested in availing of EMC curriculum, faculty development and instructional materials on various EMC cloud computing technology courses. The meeting aims to: Update school owners and administrators on the prevailing trends on Information Technology particularly those which are driven by storage technologies; Provide practical knowledge on how these technologies can be leveraged for business and learning solutions; and Open opportunities for industry and academic experts to network and collaborate with industry-based institutions to spur enhancements in IT education. The forum shall be held at Raddison Hotel, Cebu City on August 30, 2012, Thursday. The event is free of charge. We do not have any specific selection criteria for any interested HEI apart from the following conditions: 1. That the school must be offering Technical/Engineering/IT education programs; 2. That the HEI should be willing to nominate their faculty and encourage their instructors to get themselves trained on new technologies; 3. That the HEI may explore the possibility of enhancing or enriching their related curriculum with Industry ready programs like Cloud, Data Science and Big Data Analytics etc.; 4. That the HEI shall be committed to work closely with EMC and take initiatives to ensure student gets best training and exposure; 5. That the HEI shall be committed to appoint one single point of contact post enrolment to ensure smooth correspondence post membership. We do not ask for any financial commitment but look forward towards a positive acceptance of HEIs for EMC Academic Alliance initiative. This is a non-revenue model of EMC and lot of funding is involved to ensure, faculty/students gets best of the best exposure to these technologies.
