Feng Shui Bedrooms: Form School

This page deals with the Tangible or Physical Aspects of Feng Shui in Bedrooms. Location of Bedroom The ideal location for the bedroom in the Home, from the Feng Shui Analysis, is in a Quieter Part where the energy is calmer or activities are Quieter. For example: In a double storey home, the bedrooms are to be above the living area. In a single storey home or apartment, the bedrooms are to be located away from the living areas. General Considerations for the bedroom The most important element in the bedroom is the Bed. We will be considering the most suitable way to position the bed. In most modern homes, space is a premium and the possible combinations of positioning the bed are limited and a number of compromises are required. Examples are illustrated in Case Studies on the various combinations of person, aspirations and the possible room configurations. Configurations of the Bed 1. Headboard: All beds should have a headboard. This symbolises support. * The headboard should be of a solid structure or totally covered with a fabric. It should not have a hollow or open structure that is for example, made of tubes. * This conforms with the Armchair configuration. 2. Wall: The bed is to be positioned against a wall. * The bed should not be in the centre of the room. This gives the appearance of "Floating" in the bedroom. * The conforms with the Armchair configuration. 3. Door: Do not position the bed directly in front of the door. * The sleeping body should not be in the flow of a constant flow of energy. 4. Window: The bed should not be located beneath the window. * There is the constant flow of energy from the window.

* The cold morning air does not contribute much to the good health of the person. It could also disturb the sleep. 5. Mirror: The mirror should not reflect the sleeping body. * The quality of sleep is affected when a mirror reflects the body. * Such a mirror can also affect the stability of the relationship. 4. Ensuite Bathrooms: Having en-suite or attached bathroom and WC to the bedroom is a modern development. We love this modern convenience. * The Ideal Feng Shui bathroom and WC is outside the Home but this is not acceptable in the Modern Living. We have to adapt the Ancient Wisdom to Modern Living. 5. Poison Arrows: These emanate Shar Chi or Bad energy. * Sharp corners of wall emanate Shar Chi. 6. Sloping Ceiling: Avoid positioning the bed beneath the sloping ceiling. * The movement of the energy in the room is affected by the sloping ceiling. 7. Beams: Do not sleep beneath a beam. * The movement of the energy in the room is affected by the uneven structure of the ceiling.

Everybody has 4 Favourable Directions and 4 Less Favourable Compass Directions. However, the combinations of directions is unique to the person based on the date of birth. The magnetic compass divided into 8 sectors. They are the major compass directions [North (N), South (S), East (E) and West (W)] and the minor compass directions [North-east (NE), North-west (NW), South-east (SE), and South-west (SW)]. To determine combinations of directions, we have to find out your Kua Number first.

Working out Kua Numbers - Male and Female Examples: If you were born before 4 February, use the last two digits of the previous year for your calculation. Male

For Example birth date: 15 June 1955 (after 4 February) Using the last 2 digits of the year - 55 a. Add the last 2 digits 5 + 5 = 10 b. Reduce to 1 digit 1+0=1 (Ignore this step if it is one digit aleady) c. Subtract from 10 10 - 1 = 9 Therefore Kua 9

Note: If the child was born after the year 2000, replace 10 with 9. Female For Example birth date: 15 January 1955 (before 4th February) Using the last 2 digits of the previous year - 54 a. Add the last 2 digits 5+4=9 b. If 2 digits, reduce to 1 digit (Ignore this step if it is one digit) c. Add 5 9 + 5 = 14 d. When 2 digits, reduce to 1 digit 1+4=5

(Ignore this step if it is one digit already) Therefore Kua 5 Note: If the child was born after 2000, replace 5 with 4. Kua Numbers and Favourable Directions

The Table below shows the various Kua Numbers and the Various Favourable Directions. The Less Favourable Directions have not been stated as we would want you to concentrate on the positives. From experience, once a negative thought stays in your mind, it will stay there for a long time and it does you no benefit.

Kua Number 1 2 3 4 5 (Female) 5 (Male) 6 7 8 9

Example A: Female born on 1st July 1961 a. Add the last 2 digits

Success Health Relationships SE E S NE W NW S N SE N S E SW NW W NE W NW W NE SW NW SW NE SW NW W E SE N

Wisdom N SW E SE NE SW NW W NW S

6 + 1 =7 b. If 2 digits, reduce to 1 digit (Ignore this step if it is one digit) c. Add 5 7 + 5 = 12 d. When 2 digits, reduce to 1 digit 1+2=3

Therefore Kua 3 The Favourable directions of this person are:

Benefit Wealth and Success Health Relationship Wisdom

Direction South North South-east East

Example B: Male born on 18 May 2002 a. Add the last 2 digits 0+2=2

b. Subtract from 9 9-2=7 (after 2000, we deduct from 9 rather than 10) Therefore Kua 7

The Favourable directions of this person are:

Benefit Wealth and Success Health Relationship Wisdom

Direction North-west South-west North-east West

Feng Shui Bedrooms: Colors

Colors are used to strengthen or support the person. The particular color is related directly to each person's Kua number. The table below shows the relation between the Kua number and the associated color. Because of the length of time spent in the bedroom, Colors in Feng Shui Bedrooms are a convinent way of strengthening the person.

Kua Numbers and Colors

Feng Shui Bedrooms: Symbols and Aspirations

Symbols and Aspirations We have our Aspirations and want to Achieve them. We need to get our Aspirations to be registered in our Sub-Conscious Brain so that we can act on it when the Suitable Opportunities present themselves. How can we get our SubConscious Brain to Register the Aspiration? In the Feng Shui Bedrooms, we are using the technique of Associating particular Feng Shui Symbols with the Aspirations of the person. =====Sidebar===== Have you recognised the power of the sub-conscious brain.? For example: You have noticed the power of the Sub-Conscious to identify a particular object amongst in a large crowd of objects? Take this Example: You are reading a magazine and a new style of handbag catches your eye. You Really Love It!. You are extremely sure that you have Never Seen this style before. The next day, you keep noticing this style of hand-bag everywhere. Previously, you did not see it but now you keep seeing it. Your sub-conscious brain is processing all the information and pulling out your new interest. =====Sidebar===== The Sub-conscious Brain Our Behaviour and our Knowledge is Stored in the Sub-Conscious Brain. However, for New Information (behavour or knowledge) that has to be stored into the Sub-Conscious, it has to pass through the Conscious Brain. However, the Conscious Brain is Extremely Selective in what is allowed to pass through to the Sub-Conscious Brain. This is the process called "Learning". Not everything gets to the Sub-conscious straight away. Professions like Clinical Psychology and techniques like Hypnosis deal in ways of getting information into or altering information within the sub-conscious. There are self-help methods like affirmations, meditation and visualisations that can by-pass the conscious brain to get the message through. Sleep

As we go to sleep, the Conscious part of the mind is switched off and Information is allowed to go in straight to the Sub-Conscious part. We can easily pass any Message to the Sub-Conscious during this period. Examples: 1. Do you remember the Learn in Your Sleep courses. These tapes assisted the Student in their Studies? 2. When a child sleeps in a bedroom full of War or Violent images, their behaviour during the day reflects this Violent Theme. We advocate a very simple method of linking a Symbol to the Aspiration. Psychologists have conclusively shown that Images are more readily Recognised by the Brain than the Written Word for this association. The placing of a Symbol near the Bed gets the Symbol and linking Aspiration imprinted in the Sub-Conscious Brain. The Sub-Conscious Brain then works on ways to accomplish the task ahead quietly in the Background whilst we are busy doing other things like sleeping or working etc. Secondly, we use the symbols from the Chinese Pantheon for this purpose. The Chinese Culture has been using these symbols for more than Four Thousand Years. A successful civilisation would not easily discard something that works. The Imperial Palace of the Chinese Emperor (The Forbidden City) is festooned with Chinese Symbols. Aspirations and Goals We have our Aspirations and would dearly want to Achieve them. An Aspiration can be considered to be Long Term or Major Goal. Each goal is a series of Small Steps or Minor Goals. When one small step is completed, you are nearer to the achieving the longer-term goal. You then progress on to another step. Have a Positive Mindset of accomplishing the long-term goal. If we think of all the possible minor obstacles, we would not Achieve Anything. But think of all that you have done in your life - complete your education, have a job or profession, have a home. Did you think of all the minor obstacles when you had set out to achieve these things? No you just went ahead and did it.
