The lookups tab stores the reference dates, limits and formats used in the rest of the Plan support tool. This tab is provided unlocked so you can make any changes you require In particular the project name. The Tab should then be locked to prevent users from making changes. The data for the export tab is also brought together on the Lookups tab which allows the null rows to be removed before the export itself. Complete the cells in green to record your project plan data. In sheet guidance is provided when you click in each row. As you enter your data a simple excel gantt chart will be constructed for you. Remember this is just an indication as the data will be compiled into a complete bar chart when included in the Project and Portfolio reports as well as the Project Dashboard. The Space is set up for modest plans with a maximium of 21 tasks but can be extended if required. Task ID and Duration in days are calculated for you, the duration includes all days between the start date and end date including weekends and bankholidays. When you are happy with your Gantt chart you can move on to the Resource Plan tab and allocate your resources to the project tasks. Simply add your team names to the top of each column and then add a % deployment in the row for the relevant task. The % must be between 0 and 100. Space is provided for a resource pool of 12 on each project. This sheet provides the source data for the reporting engine and is protected to prevent changes to the format. To have your data included as a data table and gantt chart in the reports you will first need to include this spreadsheet as a plan data source using the MSP tab in the Project Info form on the main application. (Modify permissions and a Manager licence are required). Cut, copy and paste should not be used on the forms in this spreadsheet as this might introduce dropped references into the hidden calculations which lie behind this template. add content if required

The gantt view will be automatically created in the chart area as you enter your data. Due to the limitation of excel charting this will not show summary bars in different colours or adjust the start and end dates of the chart accurately. The chart object is open so if you wish you can right click on the top axis and in the format axis menu can fix the min and max figures using the start and end figures given to the right here. Please note that when this plan is included in a Project in box report the reporting engine will produce a better image including range setting and colour coding
