Perfect in the Eyes of God At the very moment a person repents and puts his trust on Christ he is perfect in God's eyes on the basis of Christ's perfection counted as his. The Bible says, But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness (Romans 4:5).

TRUTH #1: THE #1

God Alone Can Satisfy Man

PURPOSE

God created man to love Him above all

A Thief who became Perfect in the Eyes of God During the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a thief on His right side repented and believed on Him. Right there and then, Jesus granted eternal life to the thief. Christ said to him, Today you will be with Me in the paradise (Luke 23:43). The thief was accepted by the Holy God in His kingdom because on that day the thief became perfect in the eyes of God. The death of Christ erased all his sins and the righteousness/perfection of Christ was the only thing God saw on the thief. Do you understand how the thief became perfect in the eyes of God? God alone can fully satisfy the soul of man for He alone is the Creator and Sustainer of all things (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:17). Only in His presence there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). (Christ speaking) I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst (John 6:35). Because God wants to be glorified and wants man to be fully satisfied He commands man to love Him above all.

God's Greatest Command And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment (Mark 12:30). To love God is to make God the greatest satisfaction of your whole being heart, soul, mind, and body. It involves desiring, trusting, following and valuing God above anyone and anything else (Psalm 73:25-26; Luke 14:26). God is Perfect It is important to understand that since God is perfect He wants you to love Him perfectly. Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48 ). Is there anyone who loves God perfectly?

TRUTH #5: THE #5

Repent!

PRIVILEGE

Salvation is only for those who repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away (Acts 3:19). True repentance is a change of mind and heart regarding sin and God. It involves recognizing that you are a sinner against God. Believe! Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). True faith is accepting Christ for who He is God, Savior, Master, and the Greatest Treasure (Matt 13:44). It is also recognizing that salvation is a gift; you cannot work for it or buy it. You receive the gift only by faith in Christ. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Jesus Rose from the Grave and is Alive Today Jesus Christ was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification (Romans 4:24). How do you think man can obtain salvation? A) By doing good works B) By Religion C) By Christ plus doing good works D) None of the above The right answer to the question above is: Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation. Adding good works or religion to Christ means lack of trust on the finished work of salvation by Christ. The next truth tells how man be perfect in the eyes of God and receive the gift of eternal salvation.

TRUTH #2: THE #2

Man Sinned By Not Loving God

PROBLEM

Man does not love God above all.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God men loved darkness rather than the light (Jesus Christ) (Romans 3:23; John 3:19). Man Sinned By Not Perfectly Obeying God For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all (James 2:10). If loving God above all is the greatest commandment, what is the greatest sin? What does sinful man deserve, reward or penalty? Are you also guilty?

TRUTH #3: THE #3

PENALTY

TRUTH #4: THE #4

PROVISION

Man deserves eternal death for not loving God above all.
The Holiness of God Demands Justice Thus, God declares, If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed (1Corinthians 16:22). Death is the Penalty For the wages of sin is death in flaming fire shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power (Romans 6:23a; 2Thessalonians 1:8-9). Man should fear God And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell where 'Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.' (Matthew 10:28; Mark 9:44, 46). Is it good news or bad news that only perfect people can escape Hell and be accepted by God in Heaven and why? The third truth presents the good news.

Jesus Christ came to save man that he may love God above all.
Jesus Christ came down on earth to bring man back to God (1Peter 3:18) and that man be able to love God above all (Romans 5:11; cf. Deuteronomy 30:6). Jesus is the only Way for Salvation Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me' (John 14:6). Jesus Lived a Perfect Life for Man's Perfection For as by one (Adam) man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one (Christ) Man's obedience many will be made righteous (Rom. 5:19). Jesus Died a Painful Death for Man's Punishment But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
