UNIT # 8: Things change UNIT AIMS: To study comparison of adjectives by doing listening, reading and writing exercises related to this topic. NUMBER OF LESSONS IN THIS UNIT: 15 NUMBER OF WEEKLY LESSONS: 5 (1 - 4) DATE: Monday, 11th 2012 LESSON AIMS: Lesson 15 (Unit 7): To use yes / no questions and WH - questions in simple past. Lesson 1: To explain comparative form of adjectives. Lesson 2: To develop activities with comparative forms. Lesson 3: To read a text about a hotel owner in Thailand. Lesson 4: To study adjectives and their opposites. ACTIVITIES: RESOURCES: Lesson 15: English notebook 1.) Give students communication activity 13 Communication activity sheet and explain that they have to form a yes / no English book question and a wh _ question. According to the Cd- player picture they have, they must answer the Teacher's activity sheets questions. They work in their notebooks. Do an example with them. 2.) Check reading test with students. 3.) Give them back and check their work. Lesson 1: 1.) Ask students to open their books on page 56. Make them do activity 1a. 2.) Do activity 1b. Then, check answers. 3.) Do activity 1c. Then, check answers. 4.) Explain the comparative form of adjectives and make them copy in their notebooks. 5.) Ask students to say their own examples and make sure they understan what they are doing. Lesson 2: 1.) Ask students to open their books on page 57 and make them do activities 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d. Check answers with them. 2.) Ask students to do the activities that are in teacher's activity sheets in their notebooks. Check answers with them. 3.) Computing activities are done. Lesson 3: 1.) Ask students to open their books on page 57. Do activities e and f.

2.) Do pronunciation activities. Ask them to open their books on page 65. 3.) Ask them to do activity 4 first orally and then in their notebooks. 4.) Ask students to open their books on page 58 and do activities 5a. Check answers. 5.) Do activities 5b in their notebooks. Check answers. Lesson 4: 1.) Students open their books on page 59. Do activities 6a, 6b and 6c. Check answers. 2.) Ask them to open their books on page 70. Do the proposed activities. 3.) Students open their books on page 68. Check the vocabulary and make them copy in their notebooks. 4.) If there is time, ask them to do activities 7a and b first orally and then in their notebooks. NOTES: I repeat lesson 15 from the previous week because of practices that we had for the open house last week.
