Start the computer in safe mode in order to remove spool files. To do this, follow these steps:

Restart your computer and press the F8 key repeatedly while the computer is starting. On a computer that is configured to run multiple operating systems,

Select Safe Mode when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER. If the Boot menu appears again and you are prompted to select an operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system, and then press

Start Registry Editor. To do this, click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then clickOK.
2. Locate and expand the following registry key to view the list of subkeys (subfolders): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86 In the subkey list, there should only be the following subkeys:

If there are any subkeys other than the subkeys that are listed in step 2, follow these steps:
a. On the File menu, click Export. b. In the File Name box, type the name that you want to use for this key, such asWindowsNTx86regkey, and then click Save.
You can use this backup of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86 registry key to restore the key if you experience any issues after you complete this procedure.

Delete all the subkeys other than the subkeys that are listed in step 2. To do this, right-click each subkey that is not displayed on the list, and
then click Delete. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the deletion.

Delete all the subkeys other than the subkeys that are listed in step 2. To do this, right-click each subkey that is not displayed on the list, and
then click Delete. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the deletion. Exit Registry Editor. If a printer is attached to the computer, disconnect the printer cable from the computer, and then restart the computer.
Restart the computer by clicking "Start," clicking "Shut Down" and clicking "Restart."

Press the "F8" key repeatedly as the computer boots until the boot menu appears on the screen.

Select "Safe Mode" in the boot menu using the arrow keys and press "Enter." If you're asked to select an operating system, select the Windows XP system and press "Enter."

Click "Start" when the desktop appears, click "Run," type "C:\Windows\System32\Spool\" into the run dialog and press "Enter."

Right-click the "Printers" folder in the Spool folder and click "Delete" to delete it.

Double-click the "Drivers" folder in the Spool folder, then right-click the "W32x86" folder in the Drivers folder and click "Delete" to delete it.

Click "Start," click "Run," type "Regedit" into the run dialog and press "Enter."

Navigate to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86" key in the left pane of the Registry Editor.

Examine the subkeys under the "Windows NT x86" key in the left pane. If you see any subkeys other than the "Drivers" and "Print Processors," right-click the "Windows NT x86" key, click "Export" and save the contents of the key to a file, then delete the other subkeys by right-clicking them and clicking "Delete" for each.

Navigate to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors" key in the left pane of the Registry Editor.

Examine the subkeys under the "Monitors" key in the left pane. If you see any subkeys other than the "BJ Language Monitor," "Local Port," "PJL Language Monitor," "Standard TCP/IP Port" and "USB Monitor" keys, right-click the "Monitors" key, click "Export" and save the contents of the key to a file, then delete the other subkeys by right-clicking them and clicking "Delete" for each.

Unplug the printer if it's connected to the computer and restart the computer.

Reconnect the printer after the computer finishes restarting and install it normally.
