effective use is in treating gum diseases and sores in the mouth, while Peppermint gives a fresh,
minty flavor.

5 Dry Hand Lotion

unscented hand lotion, 10 drops Patchouli essential oil, 20 drops Sandalwood essential oil. Pour the
lotion into a small bowl, add the oils and then mix very well. Patchouli and sandalwood oils have
a lovely rich scent when blended together, and they help healing dry skin.

Lavender Milk Bath
10 to 12 drops lavender essential oil, 1/4 cup whole milkCombine lavender and milk or cream in a

water increases the rate of aromatic release so the soothing effects are strongest in the first few
minutes.
Bath Salts
3 cups Dead Sea salt (Mineral rich and less drying than normal sea salt), 15-24 drops of Rose essential
7 oil, 1 tablespoon Jojoba oilPlace the salt into a bowl. Add the nourishing, rich Jojoba oil to the salt
and mix well with a spoon or fork. Then, add the drops of your chosen essential oils. Again, mix
very well. Add the mixture to a pretty jar, salt tube, or container that has an air tight lid.
Glow Body Scrub
2 cups of iodized salt, 2 tbsp of Jojoba oil, 1 tsp of natural shower gel, 20 drops of Jasmine essential oil.
Mix the salt, jojoba oil, shower gel and Jasmine essential oil in an unbreakable container. Once in
8 the shower, make your skin wet, and turn the water off. Grab a handful of the scrub, and, starting
at your feet, massage into the skin. Pay more attention to rought or calloused areas, and avoid
broken skin. Always massage toward the heart, avoid face and delicate tissues.When you are
finished, shower off the excess and towel dry. Your skin will be left soft, smooth, and silken.
Foot Relaxing Treatment
5 drops Peppermint essential oil, 5 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil, 1 to 2 tablespoons Espom salts. Add
9 ingredients to a small tub of warm water. Soak your feet and relax. Before taking the feet off, rub
them with the remaining salts as an impromptu scrub. Ylang Ylang is known as relaxing to body,
mind and spirit, as well as an aphrodisiac. It is said to calm anger and release tension.
Shoe Deodorizer
4 tablespoons cornstarch, 4 tablespoons baking soda, 20 drops Tea Tree essential oil, 10 drops Lemon
10 essential oil, 10 drops Lavender essential oil. Mix together all ingredients in a small bowl. Lemon oil
is a strong germicide. Sprinkle the deodorizer lightly into shoes in the evenings or at times when
the shoes will not be worn for a few hours.

personality?
Yes, in a way, as long as you highlight your
best sides instead of using makeup as a
cover up. I think it´s a pity that many
women use makeup that way.
What are some beauty essentials for
women on the go?
A bottle of water, a lipbalm and an all-
over-body lotion for dry hands and face.
What is a quick way to change a day look
to a special occasion or nighttime face?
A volume mascara and a dark eyeshadow
to give you smokey eyes. At night it´s all
about the eyes!
What is a common makeup mistake most

read regularly?
Swedish Elle, British Vogue and makeup
magazine Tush. I also browse as many
makeup artists websites as possible to
keep me updated.
At what point in your life did you realize
you wanted to be a make-up artist and
why?
When I after two and a half years quit my
job at a clothes agency I wanted to do
something more creative and decided
quite quickly to study to become a
makeup artist after attending one of my
husbands (who´s a photographer) photo-
shoots.

With such a variety of makeup on the

market today, how should women select
their cosmetics brands?
First of all try finding as natural products as
possible, a lot of brands put all kinds of
extra chemical ingredients in their prod-

Second, don´t be fooled by expensive
makeup artist prices and fancy packaging. Not all expen-
sive products are better than cheaper
ones.
 If we took a peek in your makeup kit what
would we see?
Foundations from Chanel and Clarins,
eyeshadows from Face Stockholm, Make
Up Store and Shu Uemura, skincare from
Clarins and Nivea, brushes from Face
Stockholm and Make Up Store and hair
products from L´Oreal, and lots of other
things…
What is your favorite product of all? An
old faithful that sticks with you as years
and new collections pass by?
L´Occitane Olive Face Cream, a soft and
wonderful face cream for my dry and
sensitive Scandinavian skin. This is a unisex
product, so it´s perfect for everybody.
What has been the most challenging
makeup you have ever done?
All the times when you have very little
time to do your makeup or when you get
models with bad skin. I´m a perfectionist…
What projects are you working on
currently?
I´m planning the upcoming fashionweek
in Stockholm in the end of January and
beauty projects with my husband.

trade beauty tip:
Vaseline is really an allround product; use
it to moisturize lips, get glossy eyelids or as
a highlighter.

From your experience, what’s the best

way a woman can take care of her face
and improve her overall beauty?
(skincare routine, nutrition etc.)
All the old clichés (that really works); good
skincare, drink lots of water, eat healthy
food, don´t smoke, sleep and exercise
enough.

What are the current trends in makeup

today? And what do you like the best
about them?
I like the fact that today several trends are
running at the same time, which makes it
easy for everyone to find something that
can be applied on them, wheather you like
to wear only a little makeup or more.

makeup artist job?
The vareity, creativity and meeting new
people.
A truly regal white princess look can be achieved with just a few simple
steps. Filippa explains us how she did it.

I started with moisturising the cleansed face extra thouroughly.

This since the makeup is quite dry and otherwise will risk
cracking. I then mixed a matte foundation in a tone matching
the model’s skin with a white foundation, applying it evenly and
fading it out towards the ends of the face, making it look as
natural as possible. The foundation was then set with a thin layer
of loose, transparent powder.

To make the cheeks look healthy and rosy, as after an outdoor

walk in the winter, I used a strawberry coloured rouge, applyed
with a soft brush and faded out using my fingers.

makeup artist I curled the eyelashes and brushed them and the eyebrows with
grease paint makeup using an eyelash brush. Several layers were
applied to get the intensive white colour.
