SHORT INFORMATION Objects that can be attracted there is a magnet that can be attracted strongly, and there are weakly drawn. Therefore, the object grouped into three, namely ferromagnetic

objects, paramagnetic objects, and diamagnetic objects. Object that be attracted strongly by the magnet are called ferromagnetic objects. For example are iron, steel, nickel, and cobalt. Object that be attracted weakly by the magnet is called paramagnetic objects. For example are platinum, copper, and salt. Object that be rejected by a magnet weakly called diamagnetic. For example tin, aluminum, gold, and bismuth. Magnetic objects that are not magnet can be magnet. That objects there is easily and there is difficultly to be magnet. Each magnetic objects basically consists of small magnets called elementary magnets. Objects that are not magnet, its magnet elementary direction is irregular. Meanwhile, the magnetic objects have regular elementary magnetic direction (Consider Figure 1). Therefore, principle of making the magnet is to change the arrangement of the elementary magnets from irregular becomes regular direction and . There are three ways make a magnet, that is rubbing, induction, and electric current.

Figure 1. The arrangement of a magnet Make a magnet with rubbing, iron rubbed with point of permanent magnet in one direction. Make a magnet with induction, hold the nails into magnet. The last make magnet with electric current, connect nail to battery.

Pertanyaan: 1. 2.

a. Apa yang terjadi?

3). Magnet 4). Mistar

No. 1 2 3

Jarak Paku dengan Magnet 3 cm 4 cm 5 cm

Banyak Paku yang Menempel 1 buah 2 buah 5 buah

Pertanyaan: 1. 2.

a. Apa yang terjadi?

3). Baterai 4). Kabel

No. 1 2 3

Banyak Lilitan 5 Kali 10 Kali 15 Kali

Banyak Paku Kecil yang Menempel 1 Buah 2 Buah 3 Buah

Pertanyaan: 1. 2.

STUDENT WORKSHEET How to Make Magnets with polished Tools and Materials: 1). Large nails 2). Small nails 3). Magnet Work steps: 1. Rub a large nail in one direction with a magnetic rod 10 times. Then bring to the big nails. a. What happened? Answer: Small nails will stick to the large nails that have been rubbed with a magnet. b. How many small nails which lifted?
