Highlight of this week

Last week was a very productive week; we embarked on the learner profile BALANCED. Students shared their personal thoughts and experiences on how they have been balanced, and continuing to be balanced with their day to day assignments. Students also participated in class debate on the topic Technology- a boon or bane. The class was divided into two groups and each one participated with lot of confidence and enthusiasm

UOI- Last week we continued with our findings on simple machines, we inquired into inclined plane, UOI screws, pulley and wheel and axle. We viewed videos on Simple Machine and the use of these simple technologies in our day to day life, which helps in making our work easy. Our grade 3 students went around the school and not only found out various simple machines (and yes they used words like wheel and axle, inclined plane etc.)They have also been working with their activity booklet.

Reminders: Please encourage your ward to complete the homework everyday. At least 20 min of reading to be done regularly, remember its all about fluency and reading with voice. Students should be practicing their multiplication and division facts daily at home. Reading tip of the week Ask your child to read aloud what he or she has written in the reading journal. Be an enthusiastic listener.

Math : Last week we begun with a new unit

Money. We inquired into counting change and conversion. Along with it we have been working on multiplication and division during our hour-long math blocks lately. Concepts such as long division are a challenge for many of the students because they dont know their multiplication facts. Despite the fact that we work with them daily the very best way your child will succeed is with practice at home and work at MEMORIZING them.

Language- We had a surprise spelling test

last week and the students did a great job. We continued with our revision on Object and Subject Pronouns, Adjectives and Verbs. A Revision 1 booklet has been given as a home assignment. We further inquired into compound words and the students came up with many compound words which we use regularly. Students thoroughly enjoyed working in pairs to find more compound words.
