Students should answer at least 9 out of 10 questions correctly 100% of the time. Length of Lesson: (minutes, number of class periods, or days or weeks needed). 45 minute lesson, during one math class period. Schedule of Activities: (Break down your activity into a timeline of events. Focus on what students will be doing and what teachers will be doing during each part of the activity.) 2 minutes: Review addition and subtraction 2+2=, 4+5=, etc. 2 minute: Explain Podcast activity. Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.2 2. Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem. Assessments: How will these activities be assessed? (Go back to your objectives, what will the students do? Make sure that each objective is paired to an assessment measure that allows students to show it). Students will be assessed according to the their answers to the addition questions from the book. They will write down their answers and we will also discuss them. Teacher will also assess them on by looking of their answers on the worksheets. Accommodations: How might the lesson need to be adapted for students with special needs? Some students with special needs might not be able to write down their answers, so I would have them verbally answer.

Materials Needed: Go through each activity and identify what items (both technology and not) are needed to complete this lesson. Include a breakdown according to individual student or student groups. Include materials that need to be created as well. Pencil and paper for each student Worksheets Interactive white board White board Adding it up book Textbook
