Corrigendum to Advt.No. 04/2012 Physical Research Laboratory, vide Advt No. 04/2012 dated 14/06/2012 had announced induction of Trainee (Assistant) 4 Position, to work in Scientific Areas (purely temporary for Training for initially one year likely to be permanently absorbed as Assistant as per the procedure defined in details in Advt No. 04/2012) (Refer PRL website at www.prl.res.in ( Opportunities Job vacancies) for the detailed Advertisement). Due to Administrative reasons, there has been some vital changes so far as reservation status of the above 4 notified position of Trainee (Assistant) is concerned and accordingly reservation status mentioned at (ii) of the Advt No. 04/2012 dated 14/06/12, be read and replaced as below:Number of Post Instead of 04 (Four) out of which 1 reserved for SC & 1 reserved for OBC. be read and replaced as : 04 (Four) out of which 1 reserved for OBC The SC Position now is being filled by 1 post of Assistant in PB 1 of Rs. 520020200 with corresponding Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/-. This is earmarked exclusively for SC Candidates only. A notification vide our Advertisement No. 06/2012 is being issued separately. Application of SC Candidates, who have applied in response to Advt. 04/2012 for Trainee (Assistant), will be considered for Assistant position and they need not to apply again. Their online Application will also be considered for Trainee (Assistant) positions, on merit without any relaxed norms for selection i.e. on par with UR Category. Physical Research Laboratory, a premier Scientific & Research Institute and an Autonomous Unit under Department of Space, Government of India, is looking for young, dynamic and motivated candidate, who have zeal to work in our Scientific Areas initially for One year as Trainee (Assistant)

After successful completion of training and fulfillment of Written Test and Personal Interview as per the recruitment norms of PRL/DOS and also based on the good recommendations from the Project Leader with whom the trainee is attached, the Trainee (Assistant) will be absorbed as ASSISTANT in the Pay Band of Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/- + All other Allowances, as applicable from time to time. The job requirement and other eligibility conditions are detailed below:(i) Name of position the : Trainee (Assistant) (purely temporary for Training for initially one year likely to be permanently absorbed as Assistant as per the procedure defined above) 04 (Four) out of which 1 reserved for SC & 1 reserved for OBC. Rs. 8000/- per month without any other allowances during the period of training. After successful completion of training and induction on the above terms in PB 1 of Rs. 5200-20200 with corresponding Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/(TME App. Rs. 20974/- inclusive of all allowances currently applicable as per Central Government Rules.) B.A./B.Com. /B.B.A/B.B. M./ B.Sc./ B.C.A. with First Class as declared by the University. With Knowledge in use of Computers Candidate will be responsible for Administrative support staff duties/ Secretarial jobs in the office of Scientific Divisions. Candidates shall also be responsible for any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Age Limit: 26 Years as on 31/05/2012 (31 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 29 years for OBC candidates. Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, Widows, Divorced women and women judicially separated form their husbands and who are not remarried are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders. 31/05/2012 will be considered as cut-off date for all other purposes including age, qualification, experience, etc. How to apply? Upon registration, applicant will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. Email id of the applicant will have to be given in the application compulsorily.

 The on-line application has to be invariably followed-up with a No Objection Certificate from the employer concerned, by those already in employment under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies or any Organisation which is aided by Government, duly indicating the name and registration number on the reverse. The No Objection Certificate duly indicating the name and Registration Number on the reverse should be sent to PRL. Candidature of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) is subject to furnishing of a certificate indicated against each category, as below: SC/ST/OBC Candidates: Attested copy of Caste certificate in the prescribed proforma for Central Govt. Jobs, issued by appropriate Authority. PWD Candidates: Attested copy of PWD certificate (40% and above disability) in the prescribed proforma issued by appropriate Authority/Medical Board.

Selection Process: The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make candidate eligible for further evaluation. There will be an initial screening based on the on-line application. The criteria for screening will include factors such as percentage/class in Degree/Diploma, etc. vis-a-vis number of total applications or any other criteria as decided by the Director, PRL. For initial Selection as Trainee (Assistant): Short-listed candidates will have to undergo online Computer Skill test in MS Office/word processing applications. Test result will have 50% weightage and those short-listed will be interviewed for remaining 50% for final selection. Relaxation of 10% will be applicable for Reserved Category i.e. SC & OBC. Candidates have to secure 50% marks in each element to qualify for final empanelment and panel on merit will be prepared of only those who secure aggregate of 60% or above. recruitment norms of PRL/DOS and also based on the good recommendations from the Project Leader with whom the trainee is attached, the Trainee (Assistant) will be absorbed as ASSISTANT in the Pay Band of Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 2400/- + All other Allowances, as applicable from time to time. Written exam will comprise of Part A MCQ of General English, General Studies, Arithmetic, General Knowledge and Computer Literacy and Part B Descriptive questions covering prcis writing, Comprehension, report writing, letter writing, essay writing. Evaluation of Part B of only those candidates will be done who secure 50% Marks or any higher cut off decided by PRL in Part A. Thus qualified candidates will be called for personal interview at PRL. Apportionment of written test and personal interview will be normalized to the ratio of 80:20. Candidates have to secure minimum 50% marks in the personal interview also to qualify for absorption. Candidates, who secure overall minimum 60% marks only, will be considered for absorption. Relaxation of 10% will be applicable for Reserved Category i.e. SC & OBC in above evaluation i.e written test, personal Interview and aggregate marks. Screened in candidates need to upload the documentary evidences of online inputs pertaining to Date of Birth/Educational qualification Mark sheets & Degree, Caste/PWD certificate (as applicable) when asked for. Travelling Allowance: Outstation candidates called for interview/qualified for Interview after written test only, will be paid to and fro Sleeper Class train fare by the shortest route from the address given in the web application to the place of interview or bus fare, whichever is less, on production of proof of journey such as the Railway Ticket Number(s)/PNR Number(s) or Bus Ticket(s), etc. If the candidate travels in a higher class than the one prescribed, only Sleeper Class train fare excluding reservation charges will be paid.

Other Conditions/Instructions: Selected candidate will be posted to work at any office of Physical Research Laboratory and is liable to be transferred to work anywhere in India, in the interest of PRL. If absorbed in PRL, the appointees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme. If absorbed in PRL, there will be probation of at least one year from the date of absorption. PRL provides to its employees facilities like Contributory Health Service Scheme, LTC, Group insurance, etc.,which will be available only after absorption in PRL. Induction as Trainee (Assistant) does not lead to permanent absorption of the candidates in the Laboratory, automatically. The candidates will not be treated on par with regular employees of PRL during the period of Training and shall have no right to claim implicit or explicit for their absorption or regularization.
