What is wonder and how is it related to literature? Wonder is something about of admiration to something. It is about relating to something that gives significance to you and it is also about banal, mundane and ordinary. Wonder is not extraordinary, but it is the emotion of excited novelty. In literature, wonder is very important to those who write in literary forms because they cant have an idea of what to write without wondering. Just what I have said, wonder is admiration and relating to something which is the first step before writing. It compenetrates the near and the far. It means that theres no limit or boundaries when wondering. Without wonder, literary writings will be nonsense because of the lack of inspiration and admiration that will help you to relate on something that is significant to you.

What is literature and its significance in our daily lives? Literature is defined as any printed material that expresses feelings and emotions and is written in a noble language. It is a creative writing came from the creative imagination of a person that has an inspiration while writing. Literature represents people and language, tradition, culture and religion. It contains in-depth words that are very complex in its meaning that may vary from a reader how he/she will interpret the message of some literary works. It speaks to us and it is universal, that it can affect our way of viewing the world. Literatures significance in our life is that in feeds our knowledge, spirit and soul. It is very enlightening about everything in life we have. It just not describes reality but it adds to it. It enriches our lives, making life to living.

Discuss briefly the types and subtypes of Literature: There are two main types of Literature, the Prose and Poetry. Prose are straight forward speeches. They are the common flow of conversation in sentences and paragraphs. There 12 subtypes of prose. First is a Novel, a novel is a long narrative divided into chapters. Sometimes the stories are true-to-life, long-period time, and have many characters involved in the flow of the story. Second is the Short Story, it has only one plot, one style of impression, and contains only one or more characters. It is a one sitting story. Third is a Play, its a scripted story divided into acts, then acts into scenes. Fourth is Legend, it is a narrative about the origins of a place, object, fruits, etc.. Fifth is Fable, here the characters are animals and inanimate objects that speaks and acts like people, and it also bring moral lessons to the reader. Sixth is Anecdotes, it is a narrative which is a product of the writers imagination, among to bring out lessons. Seventh is Essays, these are

opinions and views of a writer about a particular topic. Ninth is Biography and Autobiography, they are both a written life story of a person but the difference between them is that Biography is written by another person while autobiography is written by himself the story of his own life. Tenth is News, it is a report of recent events or happenings around us especially in the society. Eleventh is Oration, it is the formal treatment of a subject intended to be spoken in public. And lastly under Prose, the Twelfth is Parable, these are allegorical stories focusing on moral lessons. Now in Poetry, it is a type of literature that is written in verses, with measures and rhymes, lines and stanzas, and has a melodious voice. There are three subtypes under Poetry naming Narrative, Lyrical, and Dramatic Poetry. Each of the subtypes has also subtypes. In Narrative Poetry, it is a form of poetry which tells stories, often making use of the voices of a narrator and characteristics as well. It has two subtypes, the Epic and Metrical Tales. An Epic is an extended narrative about heroic exploits often with supernatural control. Metrical Tales are written in verses and can be classified either a ballad or Metrical Romance. A Lyrical Poetry is usually a form of poetry with rhyming schemes that express personal feelings. It need not, but can, be set to music. There are five subtypes under Lyrical Poetry, the Folksong, Sonnet, Elegy and Eulogy, Ode and Psalm. Folksongs are intended to be sung (awiting bayan). Sonnets are composed of 14 lines and are all about love. Elegy is feelings of grief and melancholy while Eulogy is a speech or written tribute praising someone who had died or is all about death. Odes are noble feelings expressed with dignity, has no definite number of syllables, lines and stanzas. Psalms are songs of praising to God. Lastly is the Dramatic Poetry is a form of writings that expresses emotional feelings, involves a narrative poem of a person in a specific situation. Here in Dramatic Poetry we have five subtypes, the Comedy, Melodrama, Tragedy, Farce and Social Poems. Comedy is written to amuse people and always has a happy ending. Melodrama is a musical play with opera that arouses people due to immediate and intense emotions. It is usually sad story but there is a happy ending for the principal character. Tragedy involves a story of a hero that struggles mighty against dynamic forces: he meets death or ruins without success and satisfaction. Farce is an exaggerated comedy that arouses laughable lines and the situations in the story are ridiculous. Characters here seem to be caricatures, absurd and dignified. Social Poems are comic or tragic that pictures the light today. It may aim to bring social change.
