    INTRODUCTION
    As more and more organisations are moving towards the P6 Web Client application, also known as P6 Web Access, the need to improve application performance has become very important. This guide provides detailed steps for enabling the use of multi threading of certain functions, e.g. scheduling, within the web access application.

    ASSUMPTIONS
    The following assumptions have been made within this document: 1. 2. 3. The user has access to the application server where the web access application is installed. The user is familiar with the application architecture. The application privileged user username and login is known.

    HOW
    From the server where the application is installed select Start > Programs > Oracle Primavera P6 > Primavera Web Access Utilities > Primavera P6 Administrator. In the login window populate the database privileged username and password.

    Expand the Services folder and locate the Scheduler folder (see Fig 1.2) Fig 1.2

    Once located increase the Concurrent Threads value to 20, this is the maximum value (see fig 1.3). Fig 1.3

    This configuration can be applied to the following folders: o o o o o o Leveler Service for levelling Summerizer Service for summerization Apply Actuals - Service for applying of actual Overallocation Check Service for automated resource overallocation Store Period Performance Service for automated storing and period data Recalculate Assignments costs Service for calculating assignment costs.

    Once complete select Save Changes and close the administration applet. By increasing these values the applications performance can be improved dramatically. Statistics prove that certain services, e.g. Scheduler, leveler and Store Period Performance are quicker than the client application. Once this is complete and the application server is restarted the modifications made will take effect.
