Power management system for Hi-ways with vehicle arrival based Lamp controlling

Aim: The main aim of this project is to develop a system for power management for Hi ways using RFID. Project Description: In this project we are going to develop a system which will be usefull for power management for highways. We are going to control the lamps and street lights by using RFID technology and IR technologies. If it is day time the ights will be automatically off and at night tims only lights will be on if only there is any vehicle on Highway.

To develop this project we are using LDR, IR modules, RTC, RFID and other technologies.By using this system we can mplement power saving for Highways very effeciently. Technologies: (IR) radiation is electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength longer than that of visible light, but shorter than that of microwaves. The name means "below red" (from the Latin infra, "below"), red being the color of visible light with the longest wavelength. I nfrared radiation has wavelengths between about 750 nm and 1 mm, spanning five orders of magnitude. Humans at normal body temperature can radiate at a wavelength of 10 microns. Infrared imaging is used extensively for both military and civilian purposes. Military applications include target acquisition, surveillance, night vision, homing and tracking. Non- military uses include thermal efficiency analysis, remote temperature sensing, short-ranged wireless communication, spectroscopy, and weather forecasting. Infrared astronomy uses sensor-equipped telescopes to penetrate dusty regions of space, such as molecular clouds; detect cool objects such as planets, and to view highly redshifted objects from the early days of the universe.

The International Commission on Illumination (CIE) recommended the division of optical radiation into the following three bands

IR-A: 700 nm1400 nm IR-B: 1400 nm3000 nm IR-C: 3000 nm1 mm RFID: RFID is an acronym for Radio Frequency Identification. RFID is one member in the family of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technologies and is a fast and reliable means of identifying just about any material object. This project can be applied in real time applications such as for recording the attendance. This system can be used in big companies, industries, colleges, schools, etc where there are many numbers of candidates available. This system helps us in recording the attendance of a person easily within fraction of seconds. RFID is increasingly used with biometric technologies for security. Primarily, the two main components involved in a Radio Frequency Identification system are the Transponder (tags that are attached to the object) and the Interrogator (RFID reader). Communication between the RFID reader and tags occurs wirelessly and generally doesnt require a line of sight between the devices. Block Diagram:RTC RFID reader 8051 IR Modules Controlling Block
