NISCAIR provides six-months training to M. C. A. students and to other students pursuing Computer Science/IT course in M. Sc., B. E., B. Tech., M. E., and M. Tech. to work on projects in the area of application of IT as part fulfillment of their degree course requirement. The trainee-students are expected to submit a Project Report for the said period after completion of the project. The training courses will start from July 2012. The students are expected to submit their applications through their respective Head of the Departments. The last date for submitting application for the batch commencing from July 2012 is June 25, 2012. A written examination is going to be conducted on 27/06/2012 at 10.00 AM at NISCAIR, PUSA Campus for selecting the candidates for the training course followed by personal discussions. The examination includes general aptitude and IT proficiency and Programming Concepts. The number of trainees for each course varies every time according to NISCAIR requirements and there is no fixed number.

INSTRUCTIONS 1. Maximum of 4/5 students should be sponsored for undertaking the full-semester project training at NISCAIR, out of which only the required number of suitable student(s) will be selected. NISCAIR reserves the right to reject any/ all applicants, if project(s) are not available or the application(s) is/ are incomplete or is / are not in order. 2. Only final year students belonging to full-time M. Sc. (computer science), MCA, B. E., B. Tech., B. C. A., M. E., M. Tech. should be sponsored. Students belonging to any other discipline are not eligible to apply. The project duration should be minimum 4 months and maximum of 6 months. 3. The project starts either in January or in July every year. 4. Students securing less than 60% marks in aggregate, semester-wise, in the degree/discipline under which project is to be done should NOT be sponsored for project work at NISCAIR. Please attach attested copies of certificates as indicated in column 5 & 6 of the application proforma. 5. Applications should be sent to the Head, I.T. Division, National Institute of Science Communication & Information Resources (NISCAIR), Dr. K. S. Krishnan Marg, New Delhi 110 012, in a coordinated manner along with a letter showing the names of sponsored students, their discipline, up-to-date aggregate marks and merit in the class. 6. Incomplete applications will not be considered and are liable to rejected without assigning any reason. No personal/telephonic inquiries will be entertained directly with the students in this regard. 7. The sponsored/selected candidates will not be allowed to withdraw their name after the selection. Selected students will have to undertake and complete the assigned project within the stipulated time period. 8. If a student leaves the training after joining the project work, the college sponsoring him/her will be debarred to send trainee students in future in NISCAIR.
