DEAR SYLVAN TOWNSHIP VOTER: Voting is one of the most important rights you hold.

Thank you for taking the responsibility seriously by voting in the August 7, 2012 election. When you consider the candidates for Township Clerk, Treasurer and Trustee and determine who will receive your support, I encourage you to consider these facts. A "Clean Slate" or "Free Sylvan" (which one are they representing?) has made, and makes you the voters, lots of promises and not always do they speak the truth: 1. Elimination of the debt- they don't state how they would do this? 2. Elimination of Township Consultants 3. Makes this Election about issues not political affiliation OURFACfS: 1. 2. ____

Water and Sewer debt cannot be eliminated as repeatedly reported by Washtenaw County and State Law. Township shall have an Attorney of Record, an Accounting firm to perform annual audit as - require(tbyState.Law,...a~PJannef-to_assist in Master Jllanning..requiredto_be..done.ev.eJ:.5.-em:,;,s,,...-<lUJDI-.. __ Engineer to provide assistance in water and sewer services, which the township greatly needs and of which the candidates have no experience in. Candidate Schmidt for Trustee is a leader in the Democratic party, but runs Republican facts about opposing candidates ("Oean Slate") should also be noted:

Smith (running for Clerk): Filed petition for Township Clerk and forgot to sign it to make it a valid petition. One of the Clerk's most important and also a statutory responsibility is to sign all official documents, but Smith cannot remember to sign his own petition. No election experience and has only attended 3 recent board meetings. Branham (running for Treasurer): Has only lived in Sylvan Township for 3 years, but claims to know what happened here in 2001. Has no accounting or tax preparation experience or knowledge of township ordinances. Ran a record company on Ebay, when was the last time you bought a record? No attendance to board meetings until Nov 2011. Only voted 2 out of 7 elections since registered in 2009. Koseck (mnning for Trustee): Led the charge for lakes sewer service in 2005 and was okay with Washtenaw County . and its bond sales at the time, now wants his day in Court with Washtenaw County over the 2001 bond sales. Without the 2001 bond for sewers the lakes by itself would never have obtained sewers. Also wants water services at . Cavanaugh Lake. Has attended 6 board meetings since October 2011. Schmidt (running for Trustee): Is a leader of the Western Washtenaw Democratic Party and ran as a Democrat in 2008, now running Republican, showing you no commitment or integrity. Reason why "Clean Slate" wants you to focus on issues, not political affiliation. Has only attended 1 board meeting. You, the voter decide. LuAnn Koch, Arlene Grau and Reuben Lesser have years of experience, always been transparent, active in the community it serves and has provided the Township with the following accomplishments: Taken responsibility for the water and sewer debt and worked continuously with Washtenaw County on its reduction and resolution, created Sylvan Township Detachment of the State Police, Chelsea Area Fire Authority, Chelsea Area Construction Agency, a Township Hall with established office hours for the public, and launched a new and improved Website (www.sylvan-township.org) . We are ready to lead with Experience, Credibility and Authority, not empty promises.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving you and we would appreciate your continued support as you cast your vote.
