English 16 Literature of the Philippines Course Description: This course is designed to develop awareness and provoke appreciation of our countrys literary pieces in order to foster among the students the love for country and nature and strengthen Filipino values.

D. Course Objectives: At the end of the course, the students should be able to: 1. Get acquainted with literary pieces written by Filipino authors; 2. Appreciate the depth and breadth of literary texts written by Filipino writers 3. Develop analytical and critical thinking skills in examining literary texts; and 4. Correlate literary pieces with present day situation. E. Pre-requisites: None F. Credit Units: 3 G.
